REVIEW:Alex O'Rion - The Bigger Room Maximized EP1 out on Black Hole

1. Rise Up Again (featuring Cornelis van Dijk) (Original Vocal Mix)
2. Rise Up Again (featuring Cornelis van Dijk) (Club Mix)
3. Introduction (Club Mix)
4. Introduction (Album Mix)
Alex O’Rion presents two new titles on the Black Hole imprint, released in the Bigger Room Maximized EP1.

Right off the bat we break down the door with “Rise Up Again”, which features the vocals of Cornelis van Dijk. The fans that recently bought Alex’ new CD, are already familiar with the instrumental album version; a crisp and tightly mixed trancer that leans heavily on the superb arrangement that is perfect for some great synth work. Now with the additional vocals, the track only gains momentum and will even have a stronger effect on the dancefloor. The Club Mix is definitely bigger in beats than the original version and will rock like a steam train for every serious tech trance DJ.

The second track in the EP, “Introduction”, brings a whole different story. This is a tour de force of playing with rhythm. It’s that tricky little thing of using ¾ and 4/4 beats in one track. If you’re not paying attention, you might lose track. Thankfully Alex made sure to use some superb beat programming and once again a marvelously mesmerizing synth arrangement, which gives the entire track a certain feel that refers to the pioneers like Jean Michel Jarre and Vangelis. It’s spacious, touching and above all killer material for the dance floor. So it’s correct: Alex O’Rion has “Maximized” his own tracks for the party people, the dancers and most definitely the DJs of this planet!

Dimitri Kechagias review: Alex continues to unleash his exceptional beats with another top release with tracks taken from his latest album but in  their maximized version. First of all is the beautiful vocal trancer Rise Up Again. Upon the really melodic electro prog tech trance soundtrack Cornelis van Dijk add his awesome vocals that he delivers them as always really dynamic and uncompromising. Expect your audience to become one and shout loud that will Rise Up Again. There is the original version that has a more balearic prog trance feel to it and the massive  club mix that toughens up the proceedings ready to conquer and surrunder the club goers with your beats.  Introduction is the awesome second track that is included in two versions as well. The Club mix targets the international dancefloors and for that reason is a bit rougher and wild while the original mix maximizes the melodic pleasure of it with an extended intro and massive hands in the air breakdown. The melody is really high class and perhaps will make many other composers feeling jealous about it. This EP is another clear manifestation of Alex ability to create original melodies that will remain for long and pass the test of it.
