REVIEW: Ralphie B - Delphi / Epic Battle out on Captivating Sounds/Armada Music

1.Delphi (Original Mix)
2.Delphi (Snatt & Vix Remix)
3.Epic Battle (Original Mix)
4.Epic Battle (Radio Edit)

Ralphie B is back in shape and not afraid to let you hear it. After his grand comeback with ‘Bullfrog’, the Dutch producer lands another winner, or in fact a winning team – ‘Delphi’ and ‘Epic Battle’.

Flying solo since 2009 and being responsible for classics like ‘Midway – Monkey Forest’ and ‘Massive’ gave Ralph Barendse a head start in the producing game. After many years of successful First State collabs, Ralph picked up his Midway project and produced an entire album. But that’s not all, for he also unleashed the beast of ‘Bullfrog’, hammered by the big DJ’s. The successor to this one, is the feel-good trancer of ‘Delphi’ and grotesque, tech trancer ‘Epic Battle’.

‘Delphi’ has got the playful, energetic beats Ralphie is known for, and combined with sundrenched melodies, sweeping strings and sensitive piano  makes up for an anthem that can get the sun shining, no matter how dark your night is. ‘Epic Battle’ rocks you with heavy tech-elements, orchestral sounds and a filmic touch to it all. This one’s big, no matter if it kicks in at the club or during the massive festivals that are planned for the next few months!

As a welcome extra, Romanian duo Snatt & Vix provide a deep, proggy mix of ‘Delphi’. It’s soothing and gentle at first, but hits nothing but full throttle right after the break.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Ralphie B is back with another storming release this time in the form of double tracker that you can not miss cause is the two sides of the same genius that is Ralphie B. Delphi in reality is a historic place in Greece that signifies ancient knowledge, philosophy and wisdom. In a very strange way I believe that  this track has some of those values. Its a big room driving uplifting trancer with a melodic theme that can travel your mind very easily at Delphi that is a wonderful place to connect with the ancient values from the past that in modern age slowly are fading away and dissapear. The melody also recalls great themes coming from music composers like Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarr to name just a few. Snatt & Vix transform the dreamy original into a big room proglifting anthem that has the right amount of groove and that big epic melody in the climax for hands in the air. Epic Battle sounds really promising as a title and the track manage to stay true to it with melodic travelling intro part that lead us on a very surprising breakdown that is highly influenced from films representing those years with effects and big room melody to bring immense euphoria on the dancefloor.  It sounds like an EP produced after returning from a holiday that you have visited all those ancient places and the mystic atmosphere there had an impact on you.
