Steven 'Estiva' Baan has been a mainstay of Enhanced Recordings over the past 5 years; from one of our earliest discoveries to now one of our most decorated artists, and a leading light of not only the Dutch, but world trance scene.
With an unmistakably unique take on trance, Estiva has seen his productions receive consistent support from Armin van Buuren to Tiesto, Above & Beyond to Ferry Corsten and everyone in between, whilst featuring on leading compilations such as the ISOS and ASOT series' and as a DJ he has taken his sound around the globe, gracing leading events in countries spanning the world.
With his debut album in the works, we launch our Perfect Ten series with the on fire Dutchman to celebrate his work on Enhanced to date! Estiva's top voted track was the massive "I Feel Fine" from 2009; and so we present this fresh rework to you from the compilation.
Dimitri Kechagias review: Estiva is one of my favorite members from Enhanced family and I guess also favorite for many others all over the globe. His trademark style that consists of deep bouncy basslines but with very uplifting melodies in the breakdown and the big epic synthy riffs in the main part is one that has influenced many other producers as well. Estiva is one of the first artists who gave birth to the "proglifting" trance substyle. The idea to give the chance to the fans to choose the best tracks released so far and create a compilation is very intresting as his existing fans will have the chance to recall memories associated with the tracks and also serves as an excellent introduction for those that dont know him as an artist and would like to start following his music. His brand new version of I Feel Fine is the Perfect new version of an unforgetable classic included his characteristic piano riff. The Perfect Ten mix is Perfect and will get Ten points from me and many other reviewers as well. It has more energy and peak time proglifting power than the original with intresting twists and turns. He reworks the main melody and intrestingly enough he placed it at the background in a more subliminal way. Estiva sounds fresh as ever and with signs of maturity and progress in his composition.
