Dance music’s most innovative duo re-team with one of the scene’s hottest vocal properties for the first major single to be taken from their new artist album ‘Wake Your Mind’.
The album’s teaser precursor ‘The Theme’ – Nic & Bossi’s cover of Jurgen Vries’ global millennium dance smash – has had DJs from a cross-span of EDM denominations spinning its praises throughout the summer. Now, setting a major sound precedent for their fifth studio long-player, ‘Wake Your Mind’, Cosmic Gate scale new career heights with the mighty ‘Be Your Sound’.
Having previously collaborated on ‘Not Enough Time’ (nominated in the Best Trance Track category at the 2010 IDMAs), the release once again features the transcendent, transfixing vocals of Australian voxstress Emma Hewitt. Cosmic Gate’s Extended Mix pushes Emma’s compelling, powerful lyrics floor-bound with a smouldering, brooding production, which break-side builds inexorably into a captivating melodic trance odyssey.
The release’s remixes combust just as fast as two of the scene’s fastest risers get to grips with ‘Be Your Sound’. 2011 top 100 debutante Orjan Nilsen giving B.Y.S. a typically vigorous rewiring, using an intuitive floor-forward arrangement to maximize its impact. Tying off the package upcoming French producer Tristan Garner brews things more melodically in the early stages, but can’t resist a rafter-raiser of a climax.
With Armin opening his Top 100 DJs set in Amsterdam with it, and the proverbial A-Z of other DJs rallying to its cause, Be Your Sound is the track you set needs, nay demands, even (!) this Autumn time.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Cosmic Gate is one of the hottest properties in the global EDM scene always reinvent and refresh their sound with open eyes and ears to incorporate in their tracks the current music trends passed through their own filter in order to have that "Cosmic Gate" distinctive flavor. Be Your Sound is simply another classic in their long back catalogue. The track follows the progressive trance style with housey and electro influences creating a really twisted and surprising soundbed for the exquisite voice of Emma Hewitt to shine on. I have the feeling that on this track Emma sounds more expressive than ever. Her voice is trembling with passion and embodies in the best way the story is singing about. The breakdown really large and furius will bring shivers from head to toe. The main part of the track continues big room with swirling synths, chorus like vocals and intensity for the clubbers to throw their hands in the air and sing a long. It can not get any better introduction for their forthcoming album thats for sure. The remix package that the masterminds of Black Hole recordings have included in the release will surprise many with Tristan Garner who usually goes for prog house remixes in this particular release is much more melodic and I can even think more trancey and mainstream too. Lastly the Norwegian wonderboy Orjan Nilsen provides his high quality remix that is a marvelous hybrid of prog trance with strong house sensibilities with great work done in the climax of the track. Full on Big Room mayhem that will be on djs playlists for long as it crashes and bangs with Emma sounding upon it vulnerable and fragile. Cosmic Gate is OUR Sound.
