Throughout the spring and summer Basil has been hard at work in the studio, and we at Coldharbour are proud to present his first full E.P. containing three tracks oozing with quality.
From the opening moments of Angular Momentum, you are locked in to a deep and spooky atmosphere, with a brooding bassline boasting those quintessential Coldharbour qualities everyone has come to admire. A brief pause to increment depth with some beautiful pads, and then back to the dark journey which will become very addictive after only one or two listens.
A highlight of the Global DJ Broadcast Ibiza Summer Sessions season, Realm of Mind was debuted by Markus on a hot August night, and like Angular Momentum, struck an immediate rapport with listeners worldwide. Molech is a slightly tougher affair, with a sharp lead interspersed with those now typically beautiful pads utilised to beautiful effect.
Quite rightly, Basil’s work is among the most hotly anticipated on Coldharbour in 2011. And with three winners on offer here, it’s difficult not to see why.
Dimitri Kechagias review: The stunning Greek talent Basil O Glue continues to shine with his superb releases and remixes throughout 2011. I'm glad to see his music getting so much love and respect from Markus Schulz label cause simply his productions are born to get a release on this label. When you listen Basil O Glue you think that the most suitable label for him is Coldharbour recordings and here he is with this fantastic EP that will definitely get the warm hearted support of all those who love their progressive beauties to be deep, hypnotic, dark and mysterious. First of all Angular Momentum open this EP in the best possible way. You get the sense that was produced in a secret laboratory located somewhere deep right at the heart of the earth where no other human eye can observe what is going on and only the music creator stays on his own highly concentrated to device sounds that allow our imagination to run wild and uncontrollable. In the breakdown he unleashes a really dark and sinister big room melody that will make the crowd scream for sure. Realm of the mind is using deep driving basslines that lead us in the breakdown that various effects such as small explosions and sound drops create a really chaotic effect that becomes even more dramatic with the addition of dark nasty melodic rays. The psy trance influence on both track is evident of course. Molech uses playful beats and basslines that are tougher and groovier offering a sense of hope and light for the listeners to breath. It has more dynamism than the previous ones and sounds like being the track that you can listen when you reach the end of a tunnel. Superb EP tha tells its own unique and mysterious story.
