REVIEW: First State featuring Tyler Sherrit - Maze out on Magik Muzik/Black Hole

1. Original mix

First State teams up with vocalist Tyler Sherrit for his new single on the Magik Muzik imprint, entitled “Maze”.

First State has been working hard to finish his upcoming mix compilation called “The Whole Nine Yards”, which will feature some of his own productions, one of them being “Maze”.

This is the latest in a long line of new productions that see First State highlight his personal approach on the Progressive House sound. “Maze” features a complex arrangement of rough ripping synths, signature classical piano riffs and live drums that are All strung together with a definitive hammering kick drum that sets the Progressive drive, whilst the captivating vocals of Tyler Sherritt pierce through… and listen out for the “heartbeat” in the initial breakdown of the track that almost literally brings the track, and the dance floor to life.

All of the above considered, this track is the perfect example of the new “Trouse” genre that everyone’s hyping about. With Tyler Sheritt’s vocals and the tight production of First State, “Maze” is a true chart topper!

Dimitri Kechagias review: Sander van Dien aka First State is one of the finest electronic dance music producers around and he always manage to catch all the dance fans by surprise and deliver something that is unique, witty and always high class of course. His brand new track taken from his forthcoming compilation “The Whole Nine Yards” that the dance community is waiting with anticipation is definitely a track that can cross over to variety of styles and be one of the main and the characteristic tracks of the night. Maze is a big room uplifting progressive beauty with an outstanding vocal that really stands out from the first time that it happens to get exposed by it. The voice of Tyler Sherrit is so unique that his passion radiates all over the place and you will want to sing a long with him. It recalls voices of  indie dance artists that currently have a lot of success worldwide like Empire of the Sun. So you can expect while you listen this at your home stereo to get over totally by it and start doing your own impersonations infront of your mirror with a pen in your hand. Big room epic house synths, warm strings and bubbly driving beats will do damage on trance or prog house sets. Maze is destined to move from the clubs to mainstream daytime radio playlists very easily. It's another big highlight in First State's growing back catalogue of club anthems. Love it!
