Dimitri Kechagias review: If there is one dj that you can easily define as the ultimate representative of the balearic trance subgenre, he is Roger Shah who continues to work his way around this particular sound adding and subtracting elements from other styles in order to provide his unique singature sound. In the Light offer to Sia Kosheen the chance to sing with her velvet but really characteristic voice a very optimistic and feel good tribal balearic trancer that lasts for 10 whole minutes. Pure audio pleasure for sure with Sia having one of her best performances. On Dance With Me he adds great influences of epic progressive house sound upon his tribal beats and the result is an energetic uplifting track that will make you dance with Inger in just seconds. For When the world's Asleep he uses many effects upon the vocals stretching them and distorting them in a very playful way in order to make them sound more like an instrument rather than something that will stand out. In that way the listener stays focused on the music rather than on the vocal. Balearic quitars and warm strings will transfer you in a different place for sure. The new vocalist for me Ira Loco takes part on Save it All Today and with her indie dance/fragile and sensitive voice adds a certain warmth and hypnotic feel. Sian Kosheen is back for Shine that is a feel good relaxing and smoothing optimistic track with prog house influences as well. Deep and meaningful lyrics add quality and strength to the whole production. Island is another brilliant moment of that cd as the vocalist sounds like a siren that came out from the bottom of the sea to the surface just to sing by the side of Roger Shah. Finally Chris Jones returns with his rocky powerful stand out voice for Summer Days and the result is simply outstanding. Music for balearic clubs, radio shows and definitely really smoothing and relaxing for home listening as well.You press play on that great cd and you simply meditate and rejuvanate at the end of it but be sure to be Openiminded!
