Dimitri Kechagias review: Afterglow deep lives and breathes in the verge of progressive house and progressive trance. If you check out all Afterglow deep releases till now you will be surprised from the wide variety of styles, sounds and artists of course that you will discover. This time the well known dutch project 16bit Lolitas present a brand new project called Bug Report. The first release of that project and we wish to carry on with more in the future is entitled The Great Dog. Mysterious title that definitely works as a teaser for the listener to check it and find out what this title means. Original mix is a big bouncy but deep prog house meets style track really melodic and summery that flows and grows so wonderfully because of its various sound layers like spaced out vocals and great soaring melodies and atmospheres. The beat recalls in my mind the style of Jam & Spoon from back in the days and really this adds to the whole track a retro feel as well. Great package of two equally intresting versions. The Polish duo Simmons & Blanc adds a more balearic prog trance style sound that really elevates the original elements to another higher level. This version is more big room and ready for club action. The breakdown is long with soothing ambient like effects and that melodic riff slowly building the tension for the big raise your hands in the air moment. Its a remix that will pass the test of time for sure. David Granham mix adds more bounce and drive with great synthy riffs, choped echoed vocals and really well crafted breakdown that will give its place to a really deep melodic psy trance influenced main part. Its absolutely brilliant release with 3 Large versions. But im still wondering where is that Great Dog??? If you find the answer send me a message please.
