Joni pres. Molay - Drifting Off out on Anjunadeep
Joni pres. Molay - Drifting Off (Original Mix)
Joni pres. Molay - Drifting Off (1985 Remix)
“Drifting Off” is Joni’s Anjunadeep debut. The Original Mix is a masterclass in deep and melodic prog house music; textured with warm synths, lilting guitars and softly whispered vocals, and topped off with a summery vibe, we think this luscious tune is going to be a real hit.
The remix sees Marcus Schössow make his return to the label under his “1985” alias. His rework pays its dues to the melodic original but adds a hollowed-out bassline and fizzier synth line to proceedings. All in all, these are two delightfully dreamy mixes to crank up during the summer months!
Dimitri Kechagias review: Anjunadeep crank it up once again with another outstanding crossover release that will touch many hearts and souls all over the world. The original is a beautiful loungy progressive house cut that captures all the magic of summer in his 5 minutes duration. Absolutely brilliant melodies, break beat like beats and this dark rocky edge vocal that has a hypnotic and disorienting effect adding to its high quality. I would love to see it in many cafe del mar type of compilations. Marcus remix is an absolute epic proportions version as it lasts for more than 10 minutes and builds so wonderfully with all the top lovely melodic layers offering a really crossover version that prog house and prog trance djs will adore. The addition of the great rock guitar riffs and its whole flow is something difficult to describe in its detail. Its another Anjunadeep classic on a label that get better and better as the good old summer wine in a beach bar in Ibiza or Myconos. Lovely indeed!
