BT and Kirsty Hawkshaw teamed up for “A Million Stars”, released on the Black Hole imprint.
The ones that have followed BT’s album releases “These Hopeful Machines” and “These Re-Imagined Machines” have been familiar with “A Million Stars” for quite some time now. The fragile, partially acoustic original version is a beauty to listen to in the intimacy of your own house, the bedroom, your car or on your iPod. The electronic elements already made it clear that there was some serious dance floor potential in it and now this remix package confirms it with a bang.
With a total of eight absolutely outstanding versions, it is best for every serious DJ to check them all out, one by one, all the way from intro to outro. Marc Simz, Save The Robot, Myon & Shane 54, Sultan & Ned Shepard, Airwave and Digital Stories; they all spent many, many hours on end to give this fabulous BT original a state of the art work over. Make sure to grab the versions that fit best in your personal playlist when you’re behind the decks. Your audience will feel as if they’re dancing under the warm night sky, filled with “A Million Stars”!
Dimitri Kechagias review: BT is not only a Grammy nominated composer but also a very talented live performer and DJ. His album These Hopeful Machines is considered as precious classic that will influence in the coming years a large number of electronic music producers. Its hard to find an album that the majority can be released as full singles and definitely the release of A Million Stars was something bound to happen. Black Hole who knows to work around any single in the best possible offer to this magikal track a fantastic extended remix package that each dj will discover his/her favorite and will fell totally in love with it. Firstly is Marc Simz who will do the mixing of the forthcoming ITWT legendary compilation and as you expected from him offers one of his finest progressive trance outings with less tech trance in it. Save the Robot that get support in each and every single release from the big A list djs deliver a big progressive house mix with wobbly bubbly beats and big synthy drops to deliver that hands up moment and those fantastic Kirsty vocals on top. Myon and Shane 54 fresh after the success of their remix on Andain's Promises that stayed many weeks number 1 at Beatport trance chart deliver the next smashing unforgettable moment. An epic melodic balearic trancer that use the vocals in the best possible way with ethereal melodies and fairytale like sounds in the first breakdown and then on the main part they go all the way for hands up feel good experience. The breakdown offers a soothing breaks moment that reminds Way out West classics and then when the beat is back you know that you will feel totally lost in it searching for the million stars. Big stuff and number 1 at beatport trance chart all the way. Our South African super talent Jason van Wyk that exploded in the scene thanks to Black Hole support provides another balearic smasher with warm guitar riffs, tribal beats and one of those remixes that will work in a club or in your car cruising late at night under the million stars sky. Jason definitely draws influences from Chicane style and I like it personally a lot. Sultan and Ned Shepard who currently remix big name pop stars amongst them the lovely Robyn, go for an epic 10 minutes melodic prog house journey at the speed of light that will bring back memory of long tribal prog house beauties. Absolutely essential for any prog house supporter for sure. One of my favorite all time djs and producers that has shaped the progressive trance sound of today the always polite and smiling Laurent aka Airwave acquires his big room bouncy prog trance style and does his exceptional tricks and twicks and delivers a big room bouncer with psy trance influences. He uses the vocal is a very personal way that sound really whispering and trembling till to reach the main breakdown that doesn't last for long. If you like your trance being melodic, dark and long Airwave mix will satisfy you in full. Digital Stories from their side add some indie rock edge making the track perfect for the electro house/indie dance crowds. This is so BIG that will dominate dj playlists and radio shows in the coming months and of course totally deserves it! A future classic is born under Million Stars.
