Tomorrowland 2010 is considered by many as the best outdoor electronic dance music festival of the year as it manage to draw 100.000 electronic dance music lovers together on the same place to enjoy in many different tents and stages their favorite kind of EDM. The famous web site Tranceaddict was the host of the trance tent on Saturday where the very talented and extremely gifted trance dj and producer Jezper Joakim Söderlund aka Airbase performed along with First State, Leon Bolier, Solarstone and many others. At the end of his great dj set, I met him at the Artist Hospitality area and I ask them if it is possible to record the interview that you can now enjoy. It was a long 22 minutes interview but I manage to keep it short on the 15 minutes limit. If you adore his classics such as Pandemonium/ Genie/Escape and his great collaboration with the superb vocalist Floria Ambra on tracks like Denial, Wonder, Interfere then you should take a pause and watch this interview. It is actually the perfect warm up for his forthcoming album We Might Fall that the trance community waits to be released on Intuition recordings very soon. In 2011 don’t miss his performance on the gigantic ID & T event Energy-The Network that will take place 19th of February in Utrecht in Holland.

Within this video interview Jasper talks about the way he started producing trance music and how he manage to get his first record deals with major record labels in the trance scene. He confesses how he felt when for the first time he heard a dj playing his productions in clubs. He talks how his productions have helped him to get more bookings all over the world. He chooses for us his favorite tracks from his back catalogue. He explains the reasons why he decided to quit producing trance music and the role of the record labels on this decision and of course, why he came back stronger. He gives us his opinion about the vocal trance tracks and his collaboration with his fiancé in real life Floria Ambra. He tells us about the time he spends in each track he produces. He describes the steps he takes in order to produce a track. He uncovers the kind of the tracks that his fans can expect to get on his forthcoming album We Might Fall. He tries to reply on the question why Sweden fuels the trance scene with so many gifted producers. He uncovers his involvement with the now closed trance.nu famous trance community web site. I should note that when we recorded this interview the web site was still open and flourishing. Lastly, he talks about his contribution and support for the young producers with the tutorials he has prepared and are available on you tube where he explains how to work with certain music composition software and plugins. Very valuable for someone who wishes to start composing dance music and become the next Airbase maybe…

Enjoy this great interview that I can watch on repeat mode many times without feeling bored.

Please watch it right here:
