REVIEW: Gorgon City - One Last Song feat. JP Cooper & Yungen (Remixes) out on Virgin EMI

Recently launching their brand-new album ‘Escape’, in-demand duo Gorgon City have now unleashed the vibrant remix package of latest single ‘One Last Song.’

Dropping their own Terrace Mix of the original, featuring singer/songwriter JP Cooper and English rapper Yungen, Matt and Kye (Gorgon City) fuse the the soulful anthem with a club-heavy feel, working in rumbling chord patterns and dance-floor ready loops.

The mix is of stark contrast to the steel-drum influenced tones of Prismo’s rework. The 21 year old producer and songwriter is best known for his 2017 original production ‘Weakness’, which has amassed over 6 million Spotify streams so far. Rounding off the remix EP with his floor-shaking beats, Eli Brown delivers a thumping house vibe to his mix.

Having established themselves as one of the most in-demand acts around, Gorgon City have enjoyed stellar success over the past 5 years thanks to their unique blend of bass-driven house music, amassing over 676 million combined streams to date, and launching their own club-focused REALM imprint. Having sold over 70,000 UK copies of their debut album ‘Sirens’, the pair are undoubtedly one of the biggest names in dance music right now.

With Gorgon City playing a wealth of dates across the UK between January and February 2019 during their ‘Escape’ Tour, Matt and Kye will also embark on a huge run of US performances, playing to over 40,000 people with scheduled events at the likes of Philadelphia’s iconic Fillmore venue, and further performances in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Brooklyn, and many more.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Gorgon City are beloved in the underground and mainstream with their track One Last Song feat. JP Cooper & Yungen being one of their more accessible with great vocals and lyrics that you can easily identify with and feel that come out of your life. The cool tropical house groove and the laid back sounds make it perfect for beach bar and parties by the sea. The remixes are adding the credible touch to the package with Terrace Dub being the superb tough bouncy version with heavy early 90's infused basslines, tribal drums, piano chords full vocal and fantastic flute melody. Eli Brown delivers the more big room friendly version with plenty of nice thumping basslines, sexy tribal grooves, old school rave riffs and distorted vocal snippets. The result is a version not to be missed. Lastly Prismo adds his trap meets tropical version for a nice slow relaxing smooth summery sun-drenched juicy version. #PureGold #PurePoP  [/content]
