ADE 2018: Dutch premiere of MATANGI / MAYA / M.I.A. at ADE

The Sundance award-winning documentary will have its first screening at Melkweg Cinema on ADE Saturday.

ADE announce the first movie within the ADE 2018 Film-programme. MATANGI / MAYA / M.I.A. will make its Dutch film debut on ADE's Saturday at Melkweg Cinema.

Last year’s ADE film programme contained a lot of interesting documentaries such as 'Pussy Versus Putin', 'Europe in 8 Bits' and 'Ibiza Occident'. Moreover, ADE had the honour to host the World premiere of the documentary 'Avicii: True Stories'.

This year, the ADE Film-programme will kick-off with the premiere of the Sundance award-winning documentary MATANGI / MAYA / M.I.A., directed by Steve Loveridge. It contains a cache of personal video recordings from the past 22 years, showing the remarkable journey of rapper M.I.A.

The quite controversial and well-received documentary is a startlingly personal profile of the critically acclaimed artist, chronicling her journey from refugee immigrant to pop star. The film provides intimate access to the artist in her battles with the music industry and mainstream media, becoming a recognizable, outspoken and provocative voice in music today.

For the Dutch premiere, Melkweg Cinema will celebrate the life and work of this artist in style, with a premiere event in the Rabozaal, followed by Q&A with special guests.

MATANGI / MAYA / M.I.A. - Dutch premiere
Saturday October 20th, 4 PM - Saturday October 20th, 6:15 PM
