REVIEW: Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes (Remixes) out on Positiva Records

Paul Morrell and Latroit unveil remixes of Positiva classic ‘As The Rush Comes’ by Motorcycle

Reworks celebrate 25th anniversary year for iconic label

Unveiling a special remix package of the 2004 classic ‘As the Rush Comes’, iconic dance label Positiva Records have launched the Paul Morrell and Latroit reworks of the timeless anthem, in honour of their 25 year anniversary in 2018.

A collaboration between trance duo Gabriel & Dresden, and vocalist JES, ‘Motorcycle’ received widespread acclaim upon the release, which soon became a number one single on Billboard's Hot Dance Airplay chart in 2004, peaking at number #11 in the UK and the top 10 of several other European countries.

With 2018 marking a quarter of a century for Positiva being at the summit of the dance industry, the label have enlisted the work of both Paul Morrell, and Latroit, to sprinkle modern magic on the timeless record.

British producer and XXL resident DJ Paul Morrell laces his own mix with euphoric, high-tempo chords and a floorfilling breakdown, a stark contrast to the deeper, gritty interpretation offered by 2018 Grammy Award winning American producer and composer, Latroit, who added:
“'As The Rush Comes’ was obviously one of the stand-out tracks of the decade, and it was amazing to get my hands on that vocal. I’ve also known Dave Dresden (one third of Motorcycle) for years before this came out and it was great to reconnect and finally work with him creatively after all this time.’
Having sound-tracked an array of nights over the last 25 years, the remixes precede the start of a busy period for Positiva, with the label showcasing a weekend of shows at Ministry of Sound (where JES will perform ‘As the Rush Comes’ live), before Jason Ellis, A&R director of Positiva, appears at International Music Summit (IMS) in Ibiza in May to talk about the label’s success.

To celebrate 25 years since its inception, the label will spend 2018 showcasing their back-catalogue with a series of one-off parties and special releases from both the present day and yesteryear with Positiva also hosting a virtual exhibition, giving fans the opportunity to delve deeper into the rich history of the label via the Shazam code below. The remix package will also be made available as a vinyl pre-order, which also includes a new Dash Berlin remix to be promoted soon.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]The beloved classic by Gabriel & Dresden as Motorcycle is re-released on the beloved label Positiva Records. As The Rush Comes has received through the years various remix renditions and the ones included in the package follow the current trends for melodic tech house by Latroit with touch of indie dance and electro influences with hypnotic edge and distorted vocals by JES while Paul Morrell is adding the festival style version with tribal and future house basslines, uplifting synths and more upbeat lets party style treatment. Both versions will attract younger audiences who may don't know the track yet and they will happily embrace it all over again as the rush of its glorious lyrics comes and carry us away. The package becomes complete with the exceptional Dash Berlin remix. The Dutch superstar DJ applies the well known sounds from the Gabriel & Dresden version in brand new context. The breakdown is emotional and deep followed by classic synthy hook that sounds festivals ready with the right credibility for trance fanatics worldwide. #PureGold Love IT [/content]
