REVIEW: Grum & Fehrplay - Spirit out on Anjunabeats

10.0
Overall Score

Two artists setting the agenda for the progressive house scene, Grum (Graeme Shepherd) and Fehrplay (Jonas von der Fehr) combine for the first time with ‘Spirit’, forthcoming on Anjunabeats.

A melting pot of classic progressive riffs, brooding techno bass and head-down trance energy, ‘Spirit’ comes off the back of Grum’s Anjunabeats Worldwide 07 tour, which saw Graeme and Jonas hit the road together throughout 2017. Living up to vigour and verve of the title, ‘Spirit’ provides a bracing dance floor moment.

Grum & Fehrplay - Spirit10

Summary

Collaborations can be successful and can be of course a missed opportunity too. In our case when Grum & Fehrplay met in their studio to co-produce the track Spirit they combined successfully their qualities and deliver an outstanding anthem that will be an excellent asset and secret weapon for many jocks. It starts all slowly and groovy while the punchy drums and deep pulsating basslines are pushing the matters forward to the great breakdown where the main melody is introduced. It certainly reminds us melodies coming from the Bonzai camp with even hints of Universal Nation in my humble opinion. The climax is destined to carry the listener as higher at it can with slightly distorted dirty electro synthy riff, so be ready to reach the stars and let those cyber dreams become the haunting reality. #PureGold Love IT
