Hexlogic released in his birthday day March 14th his brand new Patches EP including Patches and Slowly out now on his own imprint 8Music from Ukraine. He accepted to go #InDepth in the making of his EP in our interview request and here you can enjoy his answers while your ears enjoy his newborn EP.

Dimitri: When did you start your involvement with electronic dance music and which music style you are more affiliated with and why?

Hexlogic: It was trance stuff first. Kind of Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz, etc. but know I listening a lot of electronic styles and genres so I can't say more.

Dimitri: Did you had the opportunity to attend any kind of music production course or are u completely self taught? Do you consider that is essential for any artist to complete any production course?

Hexlogic: Self taught. Maybe some little tips once per few year haha.

Dimitri: In which label was your first ever release and how did you manage to attract the attention of the label?

Hexlogic: First label was Saturate Audio. I just sent a promo to Basil O'Glue and he asked me about remix for Facepalm track "Elizadeath". Love this label since first release.

Dimitri: Please pick for us your Top 5 tracks that you have produced and you consider them as being highly important for the progress of your career indifferent if they were commercially successful.

Hexlogic: How funny it wasn't but most of these works are free.
1. Universal Solution - Yukon remixed by me. Thank you Gavin for pushing this!

2. Opus III - It's A Fine Day, ofc remixed by me as well. Just updated classic!

3. My track "Leave Me Alone". My most atmospheric work I think.

4. Cosmic Gate feat. Julie Thompson - Fireflies. Again as my remix. :D Artist says everything.

5. Geany. Sounds like a follow up to remix for Fireflies.

Dimitri: Let's focus on The Patches EP. Please tell us from where did you got the inspiration for the track?

Hexlogic: My inspiration comes randomly. Really.

Dimitri: How long it took you to produce it and was an easy or difficult process? If you have faced any difficulties please tell us about them and how did you resolved them?

Hexlogic: Only one difficult thing stalking me everytime. I don't have a good equipment.

Dimitri: Which was the biggest challenge that you faced during the production of this superb track?

Hexlogic: Make a good bass. As the result it's just a distorted sin wave lol.

8-Can you describe to us the steps that you went through the production of this track and of any other track?

Hexlogic:
1. Open Bitwig.
2. Make it.
3. Render.
4. ?????
5. PROFIT!!
:D

Each of my tracks or remixes are done per one (two max.) sessions, so I can't say that step-by-step.

Dimitri: When the track finished did the label accepted it as it was produced or did the label recommend you to do some changes or fix certain things?

Hexlogic: No, cause in this case I am an A&R for myself :)

Dimitri: Are the tracks original compositions or are they based on a template from another track produced from you or another producer?

Hexlogic: I never using templates. Only those which is in my head.

Dimitri: Is the quality of this track higher than your previous one? If yes in what ways this track sounds better than your previous one?

Hexlogic:  Kick and bass works better :D

Dimitri: Do you have any friends or relatives that you send them the track before sending it to a label or if you are DJ did you test it in your gigs? If yes did you have to do any alterations as a result of the crowd reaction?

Hexlogic:  I think this track was heard by 8Kays, Eleven Fly and March 13. I don't exactly remember who's else did that.

Dimitri: Describe to us the studio that you have produced the tracks? What is your favourite hardware and software set up? Do you have in mind any new gear that you wish to get in order to raise the quality of your production?

Hexlogic: I don't have a hardware (except pc). About software: Bitwig, Ableton Live 10 (yeah, I'm using two DAWs now), Spire, Omnisphere and so much love D16 software. I'd like to have NI Komplete Audio 6 soundcard first.

Dimitri: Do you master the track yourself or the mastering is task for the record label? Do you understand mastering as being essential?

Hexlogic: It depends on case. Sometimes I mastering a track, sometimes label doing it. With these tracks I did it.

Dimitri: There is a growing trend of vinyl coming back for good. Would you like to see this track released on vinyl or any other of your future tracks? Do you prefer digital files or vinyl?

Hexlogic: I don't!

Dimitri: Do you produce a radio show/podcast as well? Please tell us here all the details about it. If you don't have one please tell us why you don't think is important for your career.

Hexlogic: Yeah, it's Fault Lines Radio on DI.fm
Second Wednesday of month on Progressive channel ;)

Dimitri: Best piece of advice you got in relation to your career so far and best tip you learnt recently to make your tracks better.
