ADE 2017: Six documentaries not to miss at ADE


ADE, IDFA and Melkweg are joining forces to present the best films and documentaries from Wednesday 18 until Saturday October 21.

Rest those heavy legs for a minute before you dive into ADE's night program. Melkweg Cinema is the place to be if you want to swap the pumping electronic beats for a comfortable cinema chair. These six documentaries will blow you away:



A bleak record of the battle fought against Putin by the wild and anarchist female band Pussy Riot, from their first disruptive performances to scenes behind bars.

A dazzling documentary about the rise, fall and resurrection of James Lavelle, the argumentative Mo’ Wax label boss, talent scout, deejay and all-around troublemaker.

From October 18 - 22 you can visit LAB111 for a diverse film program. Head over to The VR Cinema for a unique Virtual Reality experience. Gary Numan's Android in La La Land will be shown at Noorderlicht on ADE's Wednesday, as Elektro Moskva will be played at Studio/K and Why We DJ - Slave to the Rhythm will be premiered at the YouTube Lounge on Wednesday.

On ADE's Friday the World Premiere of Avicii: True Stories is on the program. The documentary will exclusively premiere at Pathé City for ADE Card holders. Obtain your film ticket at the Pathe ticket desk by showing your ADE Card. Ticket desk open from one hour before showtime. There is limited capacity, only 50 tickets available and first come, first serve!

Friday's program includes a Pop-Up Movie Night by Popcorn and MADE.COM and If I Think of Germany at Nightpresented by DocuDoka at Volkshotel.
