Ahead of the release of his debut LP ‘First Landing’ later this summer on Anjunadeep, US producer Moon Boots a.k.a Pete Dougherty’s latest single ‘The Life Aquatic’ receives a pair of high-calibre reworks from two acclaimed producers.
Influential German producer Ian Pooley has built an enviable back catalogue over the past 20 years, with releases on Innervisions, Ovum, seminal 90’s label Force Inc, and his own Pooled Music. With his own music remixed by the likes of Daft Punk, Bicep, Stimming and Lee Burridge, Ian now brings his attention to Moon Boots’ ‘The Life Aquatic’. Injecting a tense bassline groove and classic house elements to proceedings, Ian flips the languid tones of Pete’s original into a dark dancefloor weapon.
Houndstooth affiliate and fast rising producer Throwing Snow has established himself at the forefront of the the UK scene in recent years, his inventive and forward-thinking approach winning support from Gilles Peterson, Benji B, Jon Hopkins and Bonobo. Drawing on a wide range of influences for an experimental and hard-hitting remake, Throwing Snow draws on distorted synths and gritty percussion beneath the original’s arpeggiated melodies.
