REVIEW: Giuseppe Ottaviani & Kyler England - Firefly (OnAir & Omnia remixes) on Black Hole recordings

Through the single release of ‘Countdown’, the back at the end of March saw Giuseppe cover some big instrumental bases. As spring turns to summer, the Italian trance maestro draws a more vocal-centric card from ‘ALMA’s album deck. Specifically that means ‘Firefly’ – his fan-delighting collaboration with LA-based songstress Kyler England, which today receives one of Giuseppe’s altitude-achieving OnAir reworks.

With previous credits including work with Tiësto, Myon & Shane 54, First State and others, singer/songwriter Kyler’s no stranger to the electronic music world. Through the subtle metaphor of ‘Firefly’s lyrics and her touching, torch-song delivery, she weaves her singular vocal magic throughout the track.

With his album version almost exclusively highlighting ‘Firefly’s daytime aspects, Giuseppe’s club boosting revision pitches it firmly into the night. The beats herald a more foot-moving thump, its mainline assumes a clubbier stance and the tempo gets a significant uptick. Collectively providing a more uplifting topspin to Kyler’s song, floor-side the OnAir mix delivers in no uncertain terms. Omnia remix is included as well.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Giuseppe Ottaviani collaborate for his latest album with the exceptional singer Kyler England for the magical Firefly. The track includes two very large club treatments perfect for summer festivals and beyond. OnAir mix is the powerful straight forward uplifting bouncer with thumping bouncy grooves, tough kicks and driving old school trance basslines. The melodic content is very strong with awesome synthy layers, superb orchestral strings and majestic melancholic piano chords. The vocal brings goosebumps from head to toe and awakes your senses straight away. Kyler once again inspires you to singalong. The massive synthy riffs are unleashed wild and free like thousands fireflies on the air. The climax is euphoric and positive to the very maximum. The Ukrainian Omnia transforms the original into a magnificent proglifting beauty with big room influences. Chunky drums, heavy electro infused basslines, thumping grooves and great breakdown that will make you raise hands in the air for sure followed by the full on hands in the air unforgettable climax. Firefly is definitely one of the biggest vocal releases for 2017. #PureGold Love IT [/content]
