REVIEW: Mea Culpa - The Child out on Pure Trance recordings

Taken from Pure Trance Vol. 5, ‘The Child’ was originally released way back in 1999 as part of the Mea Culpa ‘Time & Space’ EP on Four D Records, and featured on the seminal ‘Gatecrasher Wet’ compilation of the same year. Being one of his favourite tracks from that era, Solarstone commissioned two new mixes for the new generation of trance lovers to enjoy. In the traditional of the best Balearic trance records, the track is based around a combination of stabbing guitar riff and ethereal vocal samples. Alan Banks’ remix has been floating around for some time in an early form, but Solarstone has applied his hefty ‘Reconstruction’ tactics to it and brought it bang up to date in 140bpm Pure Trance style. On the flip, Joof stalwart Gary Delaney takes a trip down a more progressive road with his 130bpm remix which focuses more on a classy Journey than a predictable Drop. A warm welcome back to Dan Jarman aka Mea Culpa.
