Having reimagined the classic trance sound with 2015’s ‘Anamnesis' EP, Andrew Bayer returns to modernise one of trance music’s most iconic records in ‘Strange World’ by Push.
Originally released on the Bonzai label in 2000, ‘Strange World’ gets a respectful but innovative remake for modern floors thanks to Andrew Bayer’s Midas touch.
Andrew says: Strange World (2000 Remake) has always been one of my favourite trance records of all time. Everything about it: the subtle changes, the rhythms, and how forward thinking it was (and still is). I struggled at first as I needed to slow it down to fit into my sets, but I didn't want to lose the magic of the original. The big breakthrough was when I was struggling with the bassline for ages, a light bulb went on: take the riff, and put them all on one note, transpose it down and there's the bassline. Sometimes the most simple things are the best result to complex issues. I am so proud of this mix, and grateful for M.I.K.E.'s blessing. I hope you enjoy the remix as much as I enjoyed working on it. It certainly is an honour to include such a wonderful piece of trance history in my sets. Enjoy :)
