ADE 2016: New club called Claire announces ADE program

Gilles Peterson's Worldwide FM, Studio Barnhus, Dance Mania and Detroit Swindle's Heist with Matthew Herbert are on the line-up for the club's first time at ADE, covering Wednesday till Saturday.

After recent announcements of Kurtis Blow, Jazzy Jeff and Scott Storch added to the ADE Beats program, and Richie Hawtin who will keynote at ADE Sound Lab, it is time for more festival news.

The new club Claire, which is located in the former Studio 80, will open in October. A group of friends that consists of people from different generations started with venues in Amsterdam like Disco Dolly and Bloemenbar and will now start their common dream; open a place where music is the main focus, with an open-minded vibe. Both Tom Danley sound systems and wooden floors will ensure that music and dancing will be at its best.

The musical program will mainly be created together with promising local DJ’s and could be described as warm electronic music in its broadest sense. The locals invite artists that they look up to, or have recently discovered. The idea is that they will play long sets made possible by the late opening hours.

During ADE, Claire has created a program that gives a sneakpreview of the music that will shape her future. Starting of with connoisseur Gilles Peterson, who will also keynote at ADE Pro, bringing a Worldwide FM showcase. Thursday will see Studio Barnhus team up with Amsterdam based label Lumberjacks in Hell. On Friday, Cartel invites the legendary Chicago ghetto house label Dance Mania and leading French entertainment developer Lola Ed for a night of dirty dance music. Last but definitely not least, Detroit Swindle brings along their Heist Recordings with special guest Matthew Herbert. It doesn’t happen very often that Amsterdam is able to see the master of the sampler.
