ADE 2016: ADE's conference focused on hip-hop bass and beats takes place at Melkweg on Friday October 21


After the recent announcements of the first speakers at ADE University, Sound Lab and ADE Green we now turn our focus to ADE Beats.  Hip-Hop pioneers Kurtis Blow and DJ Jazzy Jeff, multi-platinum producer Scott Storch and manager extraordinaire Anthony Saleh, CEO of Emagen Entertainment Group Inc, who oversees the careers of Nas, YG and Future among others, will talk extensively about their work. These speakers will join previously announced ADE Beats headliners including Scottish electronic music pioneer Hudson Mohawke, Grammy Award-winning producer Om’Mas Keith, Soulection, MC’s Hef and Sevn Alias and many others.

Kurt 'Kurtis Blow' Walker
ADE Beats kicks off with Meet the pioneer with legendary hip-hop pioneer Kurt ‘Kurtis Blow’ Walker from Harlem, New York, the first rapper to sign to a major label, to get a certified gold record (for his influential classic The Breaks) and so much more. In this conversation the founder of The Hip Hop Church and co producer of TV series The Get Down will talk about his illustrious career and the development of hip-hop as a culture and industry from the early days until now.



Scott Storch
Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum producer Scott Storch is coming to ADE Beats to talk about his extensive and influential production career that spanned major hits for artists like Beyoncé, Dr. Dre, Christina Aguilera, Pink, Fat Joe, 50 Cent and many others. Musical wizard Storch came up as keyboard player with The Roots and developed into one of the major hip-hop, R&B and pop producers of the early millennium, culminating in an ASCAP Songwriter of the Year Award in 2006. Following a hiatus he is fully back in gear, working with amazing talent on creating the next episode of his catalogue.

Jazzy Jeff
Legendary DJ Jazzy Jeff will be at ADE Beats for a special Q&A on his amazing career, thirty years after first making his mark with the classic Jazzy Jeff Scratch, and debut single Girls Ain’t Nothing But Trouble as part of DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. Jazzy Jeff, a hip-hop pioneer who has won three Grammy Awards, three American Music Awards and many more accolades, continues to be one the world’s premier turntablists and a true icon of his scene.



Anthony Saleh 
Anthony Saleh, CEO of Emagen Entertainment Group Inc and artist manager with C3 Management, who oversees the careers of singer Alina Baraz, rappers YG and Future and multi-platinum hip-hop legend Nas and executive-produced Nas’ 2008 Untitled and 2012 Life is Good albums, will join ADE Beats for a 1-on-1 conversation on his work as one of the leading managers in our industry.
