REVIEW: Genix - Quake out on Anjunabeats

A mainstay of the melodic trance and progressive scene, the UK’s Damion Houchen aka Genix can be trusted to deliver peak-time euphoric releases.

Tried and tested in Above & Beyond’s DJ sets over the last 6 months, including their sold-out Brixton Academy weekender, ‘Quake’ is big room trancer with a gritty heart. A tale of two halves, Damo contracts the ferocious triplet groove with his trademark uplifting synths; echoing the light and shade you find throughout his DJ sets.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Anjunabeats presents the brand new anthem by Genix called Quake. The track is already out for some weeks and  has been in the playlists of the most important djs. The uber talented producer deliver the goods with his usual techy edgy arrangement with superb drum programming, pulsating flexible driving basslines and superb emotional synthy layers along with relaxing strings. The breakdown is long and teasing as it starts in truly ambient fashion and slowly and gradually builds up into a powerful uplifter with heavenly vocals and colourful feel good synths. The climax is good as you expected to be with euphoric positive synthy stabs and energetic driving arrangement that keeps raising the tension and adrenaline levels to the maximum. Quake is  causing already club and festival quakes so be warned! #PureGold Love It
