Thursday: a homage to originators with Resident Advisor
On its opening day, Sonos pays homage to a handful of originators who have played a role in shaping modern electronic music. Amongst others, the legendary Derrick May, Osunlade and DJ Vadim will talk about their inspirations, innovations and their outlook on life and music. Following a series of daytime talks and listening sessions, they’ll bring their collaboration with Resident Advisor to life, hosting a party with a stunning line-up of artists—all featured in the Origins film séries who’ll be celebrating their own musical journeys at the decks. The music will be brought to you by the likes of Chris Liebing (DE), DVS1 (US), Jackmaster (GB) & Eats Everything (GB), Black Coffee (SA) and Bambounou (FR).
Friday: the Amsterdam Sound of Voyage Direct
On Friday (October 16), the Amsterdam sound is celebrated with Tom Trago’s Voyage Direct —a label that’s been representing a fresh Dutch electronic sound since 2006. Join Tom and his label-mates as they dive into their influences and the rise of this new generation of producers. In the evening, a special showcase exhibits the past, present and future of their sound, with back-to-back performances throughout the house. During the day, Tom Trago and Elias Mazian will speak about their life in music. The night performances will be brought to you by the whole Voyage Direct crew, featuring Trago (NL), Mazian (NL), Aardvarck (NL), Awanto 3 (NL), William Kouam Djoko (NL), Interstellar Funk (NL), Maxi Mill (NL) and San Proper (NL).
Saturday: discover music curated by Pause
Super-curators Pause guide the Saturday (October 17) program as Sonos looks to the art of discovering new music. Presenting the most sought-after sounds with tastemakers of all stripes, the day program will feature a panel of music discoverers before the evening’s closing event immerses guests in sonic treasures and performances from other respected musical explorers such as Young Marco (NL).
