Is there a more diverse electronic music producer than John O’Callaghan?
Exploring the full realm of his astute productions, Subculture is proud to present the Total Spectrum EP showcasing the unique sounds of Henrik Zuberstein, Joint Operations Centre and John O’Callaghan.
Entering the deep realm Henrik Zuberstein takes you on a trip with Elicit Response. The hypnotic grooves and kaleidoscope of dreamy progressive sounds continue to build momentum throughout the whole production. Cattaneo, Mantzur & Guy J approved.
Taking things into the melodic realm John O'Callaghan ups the ante with Meridian Bay. Yet again he demonstrates the true artistry of pumping melodic trance music with a truly classy production. With a sublime yet haunting break and infectious lead melody underpinned superbly by John’s Midas trance touch, Meridian Bay is guaranteed to quickly become another stadium sounding John O’Callaghan fan favourite.
Ending in the darker realm, Hunter encapsulates all that is Joint Operations Centre. Pounding drum rhythms, edgy tectonic grooves and an oddly trippy breakdown ensures that Hunter is a tech-dance weapon. Bryan Kearney & O'Callaghan have played this exclusively in recent sets.
Dimitri Kechagias review: It is globally known that the Irish trance crowd is one of the most devoted and up for it. From the soil of this trance crowd comes out the beloved produced John O'Callaghan. This man has worked hard for years and he manage today to be named as one of the headliners in the trance festivals. His Total Spectrum EP on his own label child Subculture provides examples of his capabilities in different styles and shades of trance music. Firstly his progressive trance alter ego Henrik Zuberstein delivers the outstanding Elicit Response which can be easily characterised as deep progressive trance with tribal grooves, deep haunting pulsating basslines and memorable synthy hooks. The result is a hypnotic early trance set beauty that manage easily to keep you focused on the dancefloor and open up your mind. Smooth, travelling and dark will make you feel wanting more. Meridian Bay under his name is a superb slice of Ibiza euphoric trance as we loved it be with solid arrangement and superb breakdown with sunkissed themes, chill out effects and heavenly trancy voices. The climax is full on with super energetic trancy synth that is understated but manage easily to uplift you from the ground. Lastly under his Joint Operation Centre the Irish legend does what he knows best and that is Hunter which is a dark moody driving tech trancer that is so loud and large that would be impossible to resist its massive energy. Carl Cox will love this for sure. If you had the perception that JOC is just one thing better think twice because he can produce anything that he feels happy to do! #PureGold Love it
