REVIEW: Darkskye - The Monastery incl Simon Templar remix out on Lost Language

DARKSKYE specialises in moody, pensive techno, and we reckon 'The Monastery' is up there as one of the darkest tracks we've ever released on Lost Language. Funeral Techno at it's finest.

Fast becoming one of EL-EL's favourite DJ's and Producers, Finland's SIMON TEMPLAR provides us with a killer remix that harks back to the BONZAI / PLASTIC BOY era of Trance.

JOHNNY AEMKEL turns in a stunningly taut, minimal interpretation, utilising the main riff to great effect - taking things even darker, with shades of BEN FROST in the bleak (mid summer) breakdown.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Lost Language is all about the right textures of trance anthems. The brand new release The Monastery from Darkskye will please wide variety of electronic music fans. Firstly is the stunning 10 minutes original version that is definitely a very imaginative version with tribal techno grooves, melodramatic drums, haunting atmosphere and stunning long breakdown with orchestral classical music strings, heavenly voices and elegant sound textures. Simon Templar remix is driving energetic progressive trance version that has psy trance infusions and great pounding percussion with hi-nrg industrial basslines. The main dark moody synthy melodies are added wonderfully to create an exceptional hypnotic version that mesmerise the listener with its luscious atmosphere and the brilliant playful spacey sound that make you feel like surfing on the finest epic synthy waves. This is the real sound of #PureTrance. Lastly Johnny Aemkel remix is an exceptional slice of dark minimal techno make over that will manage easily to surround the listeners and make them feel absorbed in its magical sound spheres. Late progressive techno essential tool that will please those who can move under the surface and reach deep inside. #PureGold Love It
