REVIEW: Cubicolor - Down The Wall EP incl music video out on Anjunadeep

Down The Wall
 Clime
 Cage Of Love
 Musicians

Amsterdam’s Cubicolor returns to Anjunadeep with four tracks of mesmerising house.

Having established themselves as one of Anjunadeep’s leading acts over the past 12 months with three stunning EPs and notorious bootlegs of Depeche Mode and Radiohead, Cubicolor return with their boldest and most diverse release to date with the ‘Down The Wall EP’.The four track EP has won early DJ support from tastemakers such as Lee Burridge and Patrice Baumel, who join a list of supporters that includes Pete Tong and Danny Tengalia.

‘Down The Wall’ sets the tone with a warm stuttering bassline rolling beneath subtle melodies and a heady chugging groove. Eerie stabs ebb and flow whilst the surging bass groove bends from subtle spaciousness towards an effervescent crescendo. ‘Clime’ then continues the trippy vibes with barely-there percussion and a stunning melodic riff that soars alongside soulful vocal hums.

Next, ‘Cage Of Love’ fuses another pulsating groove with distorted bleeps and bags of atmosphere, whilst ‘Musicians’ takes us down the rabbit hole with driving analogue percussion, spectral melodies and a memorable sample.

Cubicolor ‘Down The Wall’ EP drops on Anjunadeep on 31st July 2015.

Dimitri Kechagias review: The beloved project from Amsterdam Cubicolor present their brand new EP that is called Down The Wall on the lovable label Anjunadeep. The EP contains 4 magnificent deep progressive house tracks that are worth to experience this summer in the scenery that you feel is the more appropriate. Firstly is the 9 minutes long journey Down The Wall which is  cinematic deep dark progressive house beauty with rolling tribal drums, bubbly basslines, jazzy melodies and soulful sun kissed synthy themes that give you warmth and tenderness.  It's one of those tracks that gives you the illusion that is moving forward and manage to carry your heart and soul one level higher at the end of it. Enlightening sonic experience that is advanced with experimental tendencies and it is deeply sensual too. Clime is an excellent slice of minimal driving deep tech meets prog house music with great minimal snippets of melodic themes and soulful house  voices  too. It's great to warm up any dj set,  relax the crowd and smooth the emotional pains. Cage of Love is more upfront progressive house with hopeful optimistic synthy themes that run throughout upon the wobbly bubbly basslines and driving drums as well. You can sense the beauty of it straight away. Lastly Musicians is a slice of cinematic minimal prog house heaven with chunky techy grooves, haunting basslines, spoken vocal samples and great atmosphere that manage easily to surround your senses and keep you dancing while the sun goes down or comes up too. #PureGold Love it
