REVIEW: Cassara - La Vela EP out on Soundcolours

Get ready for Cassara, the man who delivers the hottest funky French House of the season! After two vinyl only releases, this Hamburg-based Italian-sound wizard now delivers his first EP that's guaranteed to make you move it. Cris Cassara has been around for a decade in the music business, sharing studios with fellows like Digitalism, writing serious pop songs and primarily being a great vocalist. He grew up with the disco and funk music of the 70s, but his love for Daft Punk and the French House scene of the late 90's with Fred Falke, Cassius and Superfunk brought him to nightly sessions in the studio, trying to decode the DNA of that legendary sound. The result can be enjoyed on the „La Vela EP“ and is packed with peak-time filler funky bombs, the baddest bass sound around and some serious grooves. Early supporters include Aeroplane and Satin Jackets who consistently include "Lady Leopard“, "The Forest“ and "La Vela“ in their sets.

Dimitri Kechagias review: The beloved label Soundcolours owned by the legends of electronic music Blank & Jones delivers well timed for summer the exceptional La Vela EP by the upcoming and quickly rising Cassara. La Vela EP contains 5 magnificent exquisite and highly summer charged tracks that will make the difference on any occasion that you may play them. Firstly is La Vela that he describes as Italian House. Its a wonderful slice of relaxing melodic deep house with strong repetitive synthy riffs, funky basslines and beautiful atmosphere that easily carry away your mind to your favourite seaside. Next is Lady Leopard that is moving on the same warm shinny sparkling house sound with beautiful disco choir vocals, funky sexy basslines and eargasmic grooves along with cool xylophone and synthy melodies. Very different style that is based on the addictive groove to work its therapy for mind, body and soul. The Forest starts with an ambient crowd intro while the main part is based on funky disco house groove along with cool vocal snippet and fantastic warm strings and simply infectious synthy themes. The Forest is 7 minutes mind trip that has soothing effect while you dance your sweaty body along. Seaside as the name suggests starts with melancholic vintage style synths while piano chords are adding along with guitar licks, warm strings, heavenly voices and very relaxing lazy slow sweet groove. The last tune is Fantasma that starts with quite thrilling melancholic vintage style melody coupled with funky guitar backed up with edgy greedy dark basslines, pulsating grooves and very mysterious classical music influenced theme in the breakdown followed by superb drop to finish nicely an exceptional EP! #PureGold Love it
