REVIEW: Andrew Bayer - Do Androids Dream out on Anjunabeats

The enigmatic, genre-merging Andrew Bayer has announced his biggest tour yet in a DJ career that has been built on exclusive and elusive performances - most notably at New York's Madison Square Garden last October.

Comprising of 11 exclusive headline shows across USA and Canada, the Do Androids Dream Part 2 tour will represent the London-based American's only North America club dates in the first half of 2015 - and coincide with one of his most sonically ambitious studio projects to date.

Scheduled for release on 13 April, the accompanying 5-track "Do Androids Dream" mini-album comprises of 26 minutes of cutting-edge electronic music that blurs the boundaries between the human and digital worlds. Covering deep classic progressive textures, big room melodics and downtempo electronica, the mini-album also features two very distinct and unique tracks alongside Danish singer-songwriter Asbjørn.

"The Do Androids Dream project is about joining the dots between the different musical landscapes that I have moved in over the past 5 years or so - but also putting my club sound at the heart of the experience," explains Andrew Bayer. "So Do Androids Dream Part 1 and Part 2 are very epic and unravel over several minutes….but are essentially clubby progressive tracks. The lead track Super Human with Asbjørn has an indie-sensibility at its heart, but is a real peak time anthem in my sets, before Tomorrow Boys explores the glitchy electronica of "If It Were You, We'd Never Leave", but blended with the song writing skills of Asbjorn."

Dimitri Kechagias review: Anjunabeats presents the brilliant new EP by Andrew Bayer who always shines with his well constructed dj sets. His EP Do Androids Dream includes the brilliant Superhuman that has been already reviewed here and now we have in our hands the fantastic Do Andriods Dream Part 2 and Tomorrow Boys. Firstly the incredible Do Androids Dream Part 2 is an energetic highly emotional progressive trancer with chunky techy drums, electro infused basslines, wide variety of sci-fi sound effects, cinematic strings and stunning breakdown with dark industrial themes combined with more optimistic ones that lead the track to the explosive sequence of the euphoric synthy stabs coming out from the surface and offering a truly uplifting experience. The climax continues with truly dreamy soundscapes and variety of synthy plucks that will send you above and beyond the nearest galaxy. It's truly inspirational music with melancholic moody touches merged with more optimistic ones remind us that after the rain there is always sunshine. Tomorrow People is another top example of Andrew magical hands as he arranges an experimental electronic canvas and he places inside there Asbjorn voice that sounds  fragile and incredibly emotional. He has certainly that type of voice that is impossible to pass unnoticed! Do Androids Dream? The answer is Yes and they create divine and truly inspirational tunes. #PureGold Love It
