Always striving to keep things fresh and driven by our ethos to deliver the very best electronic dance brand, we’ve launched a new Sankeys website to match the unrivalled line-ups that we bring to Manchester on a weekly basis. In order to further promote all things Sankeys, we’ve curated an electronic dance hub to reflect both the clubs foundations and upcoming music
material.
With mixes, competitions, interviews, a blog and a club calendar of all forthcoming events and full details of what’s happening at the club, we’ve created a haven of dance music grooves and news. To celebrate the launch of our site, we’re also running a competition offering two people the chance to win flights, two nights accommodation and VIP passes to Sankeys Ibiza. Visit www.sankeysmcr.info to find out more about how to enter and win.
Kicking off our May schedule we’ve got a whole calendar of new nights to announce. First up on the 9th May we welcome the very talented French artist, Shiba San, who’s been making serious headway of late with his unique blend of Deep House / Ghetto House influenced productions. Joining him will be the highly hyped London duo Eli & Fur; since bursting on the scene in 2012 the pair have built a name for their infectious brand of hypnotic house music and for their packed out shows around the world.
The following weekend kicks off with FAUX Basement, with prodigious Italian duo Danny and Alessandro aka Flashmob headlining the show. Flashmob have delivered their patented blend of house and techno consistently for the past few years, and they’ll be manning the decks alongside underground house dons, Him_Self_Her, rising techno star Lauren Lo Sung and new collaboration Fake Remedy. Upstairs Spektrum hosts Illuminati, which will play host to Arun Verone and fellow groove tastemakers Ko Kane and Salle AxL & The Ink Dolls. On the weekend of the 22nd of May, Covert Events take over Sankeys for the entire Bank Holiday weekend with 3 massive parties. Kicking off proceedings is none other the worldrenowned New York House legend Roger Sanchez, who’ll be lighting up The Basement under his “S-Man” alias. The uniquely talented Carnao Beats will be supporting, alongside David Zowie, Mike Lavercombe and Ryan Croft.
The following night there’ll be an all UK takeover in The Basement, with the ever-impressive bass figurehead Low Steppa playing alongside esteemed deep house spinner Dale Howard, with Manchester brand OUSE hosting Spektrum. Attributed with closing the weekend is French’s foremost house head Amine Edge, who’ll be joined alongside French compatriot DANCE with their CUFF imprint. Sunday May 24th is all about the infamous G-House vibe that surrounds the label. An all-CUFF line-up featuring Amine Edge & DANCE themselves, Sion, K-Lagane, Mike Jones and Tekla will light up The Basement. Spektrum plays witness to Covert residents Just Jorge, Mike Lavercombe and Ryan Croft going back-to-back all night long.
Finishing off May we have a Cohesion drum ‘n’ bass takeover. Heading up the highly eclectic night of DnB will be the legendary Ed Rush, who’s helped define the genre over the years with his uncompromising and forward-thinking approach as both an artist and DJ. There’ll be plenty of talent on show for a packed night of music that also includes the revered Dom & Roland, Maztek, Fabio, Total Science, Bailiey and Milzee B2B Lotskee, amongst many others.
Finally, on the 30th May one of the best out and out party DJs on the circuit will be taking the decks for a very special and exclusive 6 hour set in the basement. We’ll be welcoming none other than house music pioneer Kerri Chandler to Manchester for what is guaranteed to be anight defined by heavy, deep underground house grooves all night. On June 5th we have the infamous Tribal Sessions, a night that has a whole host of incredible line-ups planned for the season as part of their tour across Europe to promote their summer residency at Sankeys Ibiza. Their showcase in Manchester will feature resident Darius Syrossian playing alongside fellow house-don Kim Ann Foxman and resident Jozef K. After Tribal we’ve got some very special parties to announce for the Parklife after parties on the 6th and 7th of June, with tickets available to buy now.
As always, we have plenty more planned for April before kicking off our pre-summer schedule, including a Hacienda special on Easter Saturday, Apollonia and Djebali on Friday 10th and Bugged Out, which returns to Sankeys on the 24th of April with Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs headlining.
