REVIEW: Deepchild - Black E.P. incl Brodanse remix out on Danse Club Records / Armada Music

Following on from the widely applauded Emerson Todd release (feat. Sascha Dive), and the ‘Train Of Thought’ E.P. by Brodanse, Danse Club present ‘The Black E.P.’ - the most avant-garde E.P. we have heard on the imprint showing the label will only release music that Brodanse champion and not follow trends.

This time they have turned to long time Techno guardian, Deepchild (Trapez, Thoughtless) as the label nears it’s milestone 20th release for three standout originals laden with the distinct groove, warped vocals and analog sound only attributable to him.

Label bosses Austen and Scott A.K.A Brodanse have elected themselves to do the remix - inspired by their live set at Fabric late last year - and deliver their most techno track we have heard to date!

The entire E.P. feels well at home on Danse Club.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Danse Club Records releases make you hopeful for the future of electronic music because you can sense that creativity is still alive and everything is not sold out to commercial catchy sounds. The latest EP by Deepchild is absolutely mouthwatering experience that literally blows you away. It includes four top tunes to choose from and drop without mercy on your battlefield. Black Jesus is what you always wish to get on a techno track that respects itself. Tribal pounding drums, dark pulsating basslines, vocal samples that have a point to make and excellent synthy melody running underneath. Hypnotic, raw and involving manage to lock you in its world easily. Garbij is much more techno tool with tribal drums, rolling basslines and mechanical rhythm supported by wide variety of cool sound textures that makes the final result really classy and eclectic. Black days has more Detroit techno influences in it. It adopts a more minimal trancy groove with synthy melody that rocks, cinematic strings and bubbly bassline that moves and shakes without taking even a small breath. So marvellous and twisted that you simply can not get enough of it. Brodanse remix on Black Jesus is an excellent tech house version that house djs will appreciate. The bassline is more smooth, the groove is housey and smooth while the synthy melodies are working perfectly to create that hypnotic atmosphere. Black E.P. is highly recommended! Love it
