Dimitri Kechagias review: One of the biggest trance anthems of the year was Elation by Jordan Suckley. The very talented, dj, label owner and producer delivered his straight forward uplifting original with big applause from the trance purists. Now its the turn of the melodic psy trance and tech trance community to have a stake on this record as well as JOC and Will Rees are on a mission to translate the original into two very unique bombastic versions and you guessed it right they accomplished their task with integrity. First of all Joint Operations Centre aka John O Callaghan does his psy trance version that will be adored by those who appreciate dark psy trance kicks, sharp energetic basslines and playful arrangement that will keep you sweating on the dancefloor. Hands in the air is a must when we will reach the melodic colourful breakdown with memorable synthy riffs, robotic vocals mentioning the title and intense build up towards the climax that focuses more on the aggressive bassline without any melodic touches except that psy trance specific anthemic riff that appears from time to time. On the other hand Will Rees delivers his nearly 8 minutes solid and ferociously rock hard version. Dark moody full on hard tech trancer with metallic pounding drums, heavy aggressive in your face basslines, prominent application of acid layers, robotic vocals and hints of the main synthy lead that stay in the background. The breakdown is long and teasing with uplifting euphoric feel good synths, anthemic synthy hooks, vocodered trancy voices and heavy breakbeat section underneath that keeps the audience occupied dancing and grooving until the manic build up brings the action again with the return of the hard basslines, aggressive acid layers and chopped vocal samples. Two must have underground trance poisonous versions not for the weak hearted. #PureDarkness Love It
