Amsterdam Dance Event 2014 was the epicentre of all the latest developments in Electronic Music Industry and the culture surround it. From 15th to 19th of October Amsterdam was the heart of Electronic Music with wide variety of panels and talks during the day as part of the extensive ADE Conference schedule including ADE Pro, ADE Next, ADE Green, ADE University, ADE Beamlab and HDE for the harder style of electronic music. One of the highlight keynote panels every year is the Gamechangers featuring a diverse selection of exceptional individuals who one way or another have helped transform today’s electronic music culture.
Using innovation, invention, imagination and instinct, each has somehow created something from nothing, and Gamechangers explores how they did it and what separated them as individuals from the rest of their peers. These years exceptional speakers included Arthur Baker (US)DJ and producer, known from the legendary track with Afrika Bambaataa Planet Rock, Daniel Haver (Native Instruments, DE) CEO of Native Instruments, Jean-Michel Jarre (FR),Pioneer of electronic music, elevated the genre to new peaks of popularity as early as the late 70’s and 80’s with 80 million albums sold worldwide and Paul Oakenfold (Perfecto, GB)Founder of Perfecto Records and legendary producer and DJ. The exceptional speakers were interviewed as always with great knowledge, insight and admirable style from Jonty Skrufff (Skrufff Media, DE) who identifies himself as DJ/ producer /journalist/ blogger. I noticed Jonty in every single ADE event that I have attended and always his panels and interviews had exceptional questions that you could tell that he spent a lot of time to conceive them and prepare them. I always wanted to have an interview with him and I am very glad that he devoted some of his valuable time to discuss wide variety of subjects. From his involvement with ADE as consultant and panel moderator to his own productions and dj sets. From his great career and stories as music journalist in UK to his decision to move in Berlin that he consider as very important city as he tell us that London has lost its cultural significance. He has definitely very strong views and that is exactly his asset that make me stand out from the rest as he can tell them without fearing about it as his declaration that music journalism is dead and is long gone.
