Continuing the run of single releases from Paul Oakenfold’s recent Trance Mission album, we present a cover of what is arguably the biggest electronic vocal record of all time “Touch Me”. Originally by Rui Da Silva & Cass Fox and released in the early 00s the new adaptation by Paul Oakenfold took things in a more chilled direction – but still featuring a completely fresh take of vocals from Cassandra Fox.
“If ever there was a timeless vocal classic to cover it’s “Touch Me” by Rui Da Silva and Cassandra Fox. Originally released in 2001 this was a number 1 hit in numerous countries around the world including the UK top 40. I adore this record. The lyrics and vocals are so perfect that when it came to make the cover version I knew two things had to happen – firstly we had to try and get Cass to re-sing the vocals (part of the rules of making a cover means you can’t use any audio from the original composition – everything needs to be remade or replayed) and secondly I wanted this to be a really stripped back almost chill out track so that the vocals had loads of room to breathe and take center stage. I love how this turned out and I was so excited that Cass got really involved when she came in to re-sing her vocals. It’s a completely fresh, exciting and emotionally charged take on the original record and I love it. “

Dimitri Kechagias review: Perfecto records proudly presents another exceptional single taken from Paul Oakengfold's fantastic album Trance Mission. On this top album the classic Rui da Silva anthem Touch Me was recreated as chill out/lounge style track that mesmerize your senses and became one of the tracks that many djs used to finish of their dj sets or radio shows. The remix package has just landed and I must confess that I'm pretty excited to examine in which creative ways this great track is heading at on this package. First of all we meet the collaboration between Paul Oakenfold with Marcellus Wallace. The result is an old school deep house meets UK garage remix that fans of that style will definitely warmly welcome and make some space to squeeze this sexy and absolutely infectious version in their sets. Paul Oakenfold Stateside remix is the big room progressive house remix you are asking for. Powerful headbanging beats, pumping bouncy in your face basslines and fantastic breakdown with the mesmerizing vocals supported by chilly melodies followed by the full on hands in the air drop with euphoric synths and maddening basslines while on the background echoes the word so much from the vocals. Perfecto Club Mix comes next with excellent thumping and pumping basslines, head crushing kicks and great breakdown that is packed with sunkissed melodies and Cassandras performance while the drop is extremely heavy with euphoric synthy leads that give you gooosebumps and shivers from head to toe. It's the excellent trance meets big room house version that djs from both camps can use it easily and maybe this is the more Armin van Buuren friendly version. Mike Koglin 2.0 version is a wonderful progressive trance version with deep driving basslines, pumping grooves, haunting dark atmosphere, cinematic strings and great percussion as well. Great breakdown that is long and teasing with Cassanda's vocals, synthy plucks and sunkissed melodies that will recall the finest moments from your Ibiza holidays followed by quite rough prog tech climax without to much melodic input to it. Thomas Datt is on board as well and just his name promises some unforgettable trance moments and the truth is that he doesn't fail to deliver once again. Energetic prime time uplifting trance with the well known high class composition skills of Thomas who carry us away for a very touching and extremely sweet and tender uplifting trance experience. Particularly his climax is going to be one of your favourites for 2014. Euphoric synths, classical music strings, acid layers and intense drive towards the unknown is what you get and will definitely become one of your vocal trance favourites of the year. Last but not least Joyriders edit is the more commercial friendly version that can be played in daytime radio shows as well and can get support from djs like Hardwell or Nicky Romero. Hit record guaranteed and looking forward for the video of course. #PureGold Love iT
