Here is the first of 3 Samplers featuring extended versions of tracks from Solarstone’s recently released and critically acclaimed ‘Electronic Architecture 3’ album. Each Sampler spans deep progressive to uplifting and Pure Trance and this first EP features 4 of Solarstone’s ‘Reconstructions’. Leading the charge is Philthy Chit’s ‘Colours’, a 128bpm melodic percussively punchy piece of trance music. Famed for his consistently top-notch releases on labels like Bonzai and Saturate audio, Philthy Chit a.k.a. Phil Taylor knows how to make a catchy yet credible slab of club music. Track 2 comes from Russia’s Soarsweep. ‘Thistle’ is built around a deep and persistent analogue synth line with echoes of Sander Kleinenberg’s ‘My Lexicon’ in its blood. Greek luminary Basil O’Glue’s ‘Seven Sages’ is a majestic example of deep and progressive trance music, rumbling sub bass supports a reverb-soaked set of synth timbres and the huge riff which is unleashed at the break will please all Global Underground die-hards. Wrapping things up is Mistol Teams ‘Algarrobal’, an understated heads-down bona-fide progressive house workout. 4 very different cuts, one classy EP.
Dimitri Kechagias review: Solarstone never stops to impress and challenge our taste for quality electronic dance music and fantastic trance in all its forms and shapes. Trance has never been a unified style. It was rather an open ended category that allows wide variety of substyles to grow with variety of influences and infusions in them. The 3rd instalment of his beautiful compilation concept Electronic Architecture was definitely one of his best. The sampler released offers 4 fantastic examples of the greatness of this compilation that will change your mood instantly and make you fall in love with music, fall in love with life itself. First of all is Philthy Chit with his beauty Colours. Deep dreamy driving progressive trance with energetic old school trance bassline, warm synths and wide variety of melodies that hypnotise your senses straight away. When you listen to this track you feel that you are about to take off and your journey starts in the most pleasurable way. Huge old school synthy line awaits for us in the breakdown that give you shivers instantly and raise the hair from your body. Simple arrangement of complex elements guarantee to uplift your senses to the next level. Next is Soarsweep who never disappoints with Thistle that moves in the same deep progressive trance terrain with haunting moody basslines, warm cinematic strings, sunkissed melodic themes and fantastic drive that will keep you safe and sound during the magical journey that this great compilation offers to the listener. The breakdown is packed with chill out and ambient sounds, highly sensitive melodic themes that lead the track to its fantastic climax. The gifted Basil O’Glue from Greece comes next with Seven Sages. His track continues on his very well known and established style of moody deep progressive trance with housey grooves and deep bassline that sound unreal to say the least. His breakdown is long and atmospheric with magical chill out dreamy sounds and main synthy lead that is very classy and exceptional recalling Jean Michel Jarre or Vangelis as it takes you back in the beloved Northern Exposure CD that changed the way that trance and progressive is perceived worldwide. Futuristic progressive trance that awakes your mind and keep you alerted wondering where are you heading at in your life. Heads down deep trance of the finest quality that should not be missed. Last but not least Mistol Team comes with Algorrobal. With funky techy groove, deep basslines and simple but very infectious synthy lead running throughout the track Algorrobal is an example of less is more dogma with simple ingredients and straight forward execution. Don't forget that the tracks are not in their original form but only on the EA3 Reconstruction shape that means Solarstone has touched them with his magic wand and voila, the magic happened! #PureGold Love iT
