Continuing their 2014 account at break neck pace, Andy MacDougall and Hilton Caswell aka Trilucid are back for another dollop of electronic wizardry as they drops their next double header in the form of the ‘Annapurna E.P’.
Instantly grabbing your attention, the raucous sounds of ‘Annapurna’ begin to growl with its dirty bass, sweeping pads, lush chants and big room vibe. It’s deep, meets uplifting in this cool and unique fusion of melodies and vibes.
On the flip there’s ‘The Way’, again with that dirty bass growl and quirky effects to lead you into the mix. The break is haunting, yet mystical with its simple story telling chords, preparing you for the drop which hits you with those plucky keys and that deep groove. Lush!
Dimitri Kechagias review: The brilliant record label InfraProgressive reveals the brand new Trilucid EP that includes the top notch productions Annapurna & The Way. Trilucid are well known for their well composed anthem with big support from the biggest trance djs in the scene. Annapurna is a modern futuristic neo trancer that is based on the techy grumpy groove and the deep basslines while the melodic layers are slowly added. While the first part is quite moody the breakdown transforms the track into a magnificent inspiring moment in your dj set. Ethereal female vocals with ethnic touch supported by huge euphoric synthy lead that drives the track to its full on euphoric climax that will uplift your spirit straight away. It finishes off with the same grumpy greedy groove that keeps you dancing for long. The Way is the 2nd moody track that will win your attention and turn many heads towards the speakers. Once again the groove is quite techy and aggressive while a very spacey futuristic siren like synthy layer is added supporting the track to reach the breakdown. Things cool off for some moments but the main synthy lead carry on throughout the whole breakdown adding that hypnotic, exploration of space feel to the track. Its not exactly pleasant but lock you in its mysterious soundscapes easily so better not resist the power of the bass. Love iT
