‘All That She Wants’ sees Yolanda Be Cool reinterpret the Ace Of Base pop classic in cool, brooding, chugging style with the help of former Azari & III vocalists SYF (Starving Yet Full) and Fritz Helder - their first piece of work since the Canadian outfit recently disbanded. Almost unrecognisable from the kitsch original, its slo-mo charm and enchanting vocals are utterly irresistible.
Spearheading the hefty remix package, Human Life (Defected/Hot Creations), takes things a shade darker on his expansive, synth-heavy rework. New York house stars Walker & Royce offer up a demure, subtle deep house version, Kitsuné stalwart Plastic Plates opts for a slinky electro synth jam with tinges of Jimmy Edgar, fellow Aussies Wordlife go for jacking, rave-infused flex and Go Freek aim for the jugular with their blend of gnarly acid and ‘90s house bassline.
A collaboration between four of the brightest minds in electronic music, it’s a truly momentous release for all involved and one that’s set to be inescapable in 2014.

Originally premiered by tastemaker FACT Magazine and directed by Fritz Helder himself with Chris Muir, the video is a visual spectacular, like a psychedelic crown with pulsating fractals. Time and space correlate directly to the haunting bass and irresistible vocals, creating a kaleidoscope-based, sensual experience for the viewer.
“We all agreed we needed a visual for the track, so we elicited the help of some talented friends here in Toronto – Chris Muir, Aaron A, Sonia Grey, Stuart Campbell, Sam Chang-Garder – to bring it all together. The boys had said that they just wanted me and SYF to ‘be ourselves’ and basically gave us carte blanche,” Fritz Helder tells FACT Magazine (2/4/14).
"We just love looking at the guys, so when it came to the video we knew that if the guys just did what they do for 3 minutes it would be nothing less than entertaining. We think we were definitely right,”, Yolanda Be Cool added.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Yolanda be Cool always surprise us with their tracks and with their retouch on All That She Wants by Ace of Base they do definitely their magic and deliver the goods. The original mix is very cool moody deep tech house rework that is very danceable and will be played on many sets at the warm up part. Its the kind of track that brings people on the dancefloor and let them loose dancing. The new vocals performed in very soulful way and definitely adds a new twisted taste to it. Human Life is an even deeper house affair that is really dreamy melancholic and perfect for those late night sets. Walker & Ryce remix is tribal house at its best. Really bouncy with strong percussion, dark brooding haunting basslines and exotic middle east atmosphere that travel your mind to places far away. Wordlife remix is an interesting old school retro house electronica style version with romantic early rave style atmosphere. Go Freek continue on the deep tech house style with indie dance tendencies. Chunky groovy beats, deep funky basslines and surpring sounds keep you intrested. Plastik Plates deliver the modern electro meets trap remix that is very electronic and relaxing perfect for the more chilling style sets. So surprised to see that release on DimMak. Recommended.
