REVIEW: Driftmoon - Howl At The Moon incl Solarstone Retouch out on Pure Trance

Solarstone’s Pure Trance movement has redefined the landscape of the trance scene since its conception in 2012; fueled by Solarstone’s own groundbreaking ‘Pure Mixes’, critically acclaimed compilation album series and sell-out worldwide Pure Trance Events. This is his record label devoted to the sound of Pure Trance. The debut release on the Pure Trance label is a prime cut from Solarstone’s ‘Pure Trance 2’ compilation and has already featured on A State Of Trance #637. ‘Howl At The Moon’ is a multi-national co-production by the 3 Driftmoon members hailing from Slovenia, Scotland and Finland. Solarstone’s ‘Retouch’ is an example of Pure Trance at it’s finest. The track sweeps through crescendo after crescendo, with layer upon layer of beautiful cascading melodies. Solarstone adds his signature to the track, polishing, crafting and perfecting the production, adding that extra of ‘Pure’ finery taking it up to the next level. If you Like It Pure, you’re going to love this.

Dimitri Kechagias review: First of all I would love to wish big success to the brand new record label Pure Trance and I'm very sure that under the guidance of such a talented person like Rich is going to flourish and have big success in the near future. The new label starts with the awesome project Driftmoon who deliver the stunning  Howl At The Moon that is already heavily supported by Armin van Buuren in his worldwide known radio show ASOT. The original mix is very beautiful driving highly energetic banging uplifting trancer that its main ingredient is the very addictive euphoric hi-energy synthy riff that appear very soon on the track and is repeated throughout in order to hypnotise and energise  the crowds too. The magical dreamy colourful breakdown calm your senses and make you float upon its warm layers of strings. The build up of the track towards the climax raise the tension and nicely drops in the magnificent full fledged hands in the air straight to the point climax with the well known by now synthy lead on top. Solarstone Retouch remix is the superb makeover that will definitely talk to your heart. Rich follows the same pathway by reimagining the main elements in his own Pure sound that is so in demand for remixes at the moment. The breakdown in particular includes so many different synthy themes with electronica style melodies and classic synthesizer synths that take us back in the years of the huge boom of trance. The climax is pure euphoria with the addition of melancholic piano chords along the roof raising synthy lead. Nearly 9 minutes of epic euphoric feel good trance  that will keep clubs and big festivals occupied for long. Lets hope that the year that only trance will be played in the mainstage performances of festivals like Tomorrowland is not far away. Welcome Pure Trance records. Love iT
