REVIEW: Argento - The Speaker / Now I've Got Your Attention out on Caballero recordings

After his great remix for Ron Carroll, Dany Cohiba & The Henchmen - "Love Set's Free" last year, greek talent Argento returns to Caballero with this awesome 2 track release. It starts with "The Speaker", a deep techy groover with nice spoken vocals. On remix duty we proudly present UK whizz kid Dirty Secretz who takes it even deeper into the vibe and adds some nice saxophone sounds. The second track is called "Now I've Got Your Attention" and this is what it aims for. The massive speed-garage influenced bassline and the nice vocal sample create an irresistable groove that will get your crowd moving. Labelhead Sebastian Gnewkow also delivers a slammin remix, adding a bouncy bassline and some jacking beats. Last but not least Sean Angel & Sydo present their mix aimed for the bigger floors. Great start for 2014 as we think...and as "The Speaker" says: "We're still playing house..."

Dimitri Kechagias review: Caballero recordings stands for high quality releases so far and its time to welcome Argento with his double tracker. First of all The Speaker is a magnificent melodic deep tech house production with melodramatic strings, cool percussion, and well known vocal sample from the very early years of house music. It's funky, danceable with siren like synthy riff and overall really colourful sound that is quite radical for deep house productions. Dirty Secretz remix moves on the same pathway of the original but with less of the melodic side adopting a darker point of view with less vocals and more minimal dub approach! He adds a brand new saxophone riff in the breakdown that works really well and help uplift the track in the final sequence. Second track is Now I've Got Your Attention that is tougher harder track that reminds us in a way the UK hardhouse sound. Punchy, bouncy with house diva vocal sample that adds extra energy and dynamism. The classic synthy stabs in the breakdown and the burst of energy in the drop will bring mayhem on the dancefloor without doubts.  Sebastian Gnewkow Remix goes even deeper and playful with  tasty crunchy beats, classic organ riffs and retro analogue garage underground style. Sean Angel & Sydo remix is much more upfront with electroish rock bassline  that adds energy and power making it perfect as the bridge track between the deeper and more bouncy stuff! Love iT
