Earlier this year, Above & Beyond performed some of their best-loved songs acoustically as part of a 15-piece band, across four sold out shows at London's famous Porchester Hall. The response from fans was overwhelming and led to two sold-out nights at The Greek Theater in Los Angeles in October, described by Billboard Magazine as "one of the finest and more memorable shows in EDM history."
Ahead of the release of the 12 track studio LP recorded over the summer of 2013, Above & Beyond present one of the standout songs of the live performances, "Love Is Not Enough" (Acoustic) with long time songstress Zoë Johnston.
An elegant, acoustic interpretation of the original, with stirring strings and poignant vocals from Zoë, "Love Is Not Enough" (Acoustic) perfectly captures the bittersweet beauty of intense, but ultimately unsuccessful relationships.
Above & Beyond Acoustic Film - Live from Porchester Hall will premier on THUMP Friday, Jan 24th, with the studio album released on the 28th of Jan.
Dimitri Kechagias review: Above & Beyond once again walk steps ahead than others with their decision to perform acoustically the well known tracks of their career bare from the electronic dance music assets with just their singers and organic instruments like piano, guitars and organic bass. 15 piece band with songs that manage to uplift your spirit based in the depth and meaning of the lyrics and hair raising performances of the singers without the need of manic build ups and thunderous drops. Love Is Not Enough is a real jewel that talks to the hearts with Zoe Johnston exquisite performance that shines with her class and her artistry to embody in her voice every single emotion that human feel while goes through the extreme situations that this magnificent track portrays in its lyrics. Above & Beyond with their acoustic album facilitate their decision to break from the limiting constraints of EDM and communicate with other audiences as well maybe of an older age too. We should not forget that their first waves of devoted fans are now in their 40's and some of them changed their music habits to more softer sounds. This track is just a delicious byte of a must have album. Love iT.
