A highlight from the genre blurring iTunes dance number 1 album "Damage Control", Mat Zo's Pete Tong endorsed anthem "Lucid Dreams" gets two fresh remixes from either end of the electronic spectrum.
With previous releases on Skrillex's OWSLA imprint and remixes for the likes of Madeon and Empire Of The Sun, indie tinted electronic trio The M Machine make their Anjuna debut with a characteristically quirky, glitch-hop rework. Having become close friends with Mat during 2012's Language Bus Tour (alongside Porter Robinson), Ben, Eric and Andy marry diverse synth textures and a heavy bass riffs for a quirky and character-filled interpretation.
Cementing "Lucid Dreams" big room status with a typically anthemic take, man of the moment ilan Bluestone once again delivers with another floor filling update. Brimming with energy and excitement, ilan's remix smoulders to an emphatic release while keeping the lead melody at its heart - another sting to the bow of this rising star.
Adding one final leftfield spin to a "Damage Control" favourite, Scandinavian duo Alex Odden & Michael Parsberg, aka Pegboard Nerds deliver one of this year's wildest reworks with their take on Mat Zo's "Lucid Dreams".
Supported by an array of veteran producers including Knife Party, Matrix and Futurebound and Radio 1's Annie Nightingale over the years, Alex and Michael gut the 4/4 structure with a swinging groove and explosive electro drop.
A melting pot of break-beat, hard style and dub-step elements, reminiscent of Zo's genre blurring style, Pegboard Nerds live up to their reputation for vibrant, rave fuelled interpretations.
Dimitri Kechagias review: Mat Zo is considered to be one of the most important artists of the current new wave of EDM producers who smash the boundaries and open up our perception of what is acceptable or not on the dancefloor. Lucid Dream is a dreamy electro prog house meets trance meets dubstep meets Daft Punk French house style track that can easily hook you with its cool grooves. Now the top legendary label Anjunabeats presents the brand new remixes to bring more happiness on the dancefloor. First of all is the massive Ilan Bluestone remix. This very talented producer is currently unstoppable and is very hard to keep a track of all the great tracks and productions he does cause he never goes wrong. His remake of Lucid Dreams is the perfect hybrid style track that progressive trance and progressive house will adopt straight away cause it combines the energy and punchy bassline of prog house with the lovely mesmerising melodies in the breakdown combined perfectly with French house infusions. The climax get not get any bigger with pumping rocking beats, powerful in your face basslines, euphoric synths and the playful French disco house melody on top along with the heavenly female vocals. It will land easily on the number 1 position of the beatport trance chart without many difficulties. The M Machine remix is very surprising as it moves in and out of dubstep with heavy trap influences as well. Its the kind of remix that you play and the crowd is tripping out with 80's electro pop infusions and even some 70's basslines. Perfect to play as the final track in your set and watch the crowd vibrating along. The 3rd and final mix added to this package is the fantastic Pegboard Nerds Remix that translates the track in true heavy dubstep style. Powerful and banging with rough bassline that is balanced with strong tripping out melodic side. Cinematic dreamy breakdow combined with very energetic and agressive heavy dubsep sound. Its the kind dubstep that will be liked even by non dubstep followers. 3 must play remixes to rock your soundsystem. Love IT
