REVIEW: DAVI - The Bay 6 EP out on Anjunadeep

Having first featured on Anjunadeep with his remix of the legendary Underworld's "Two Months Off" on Anjunadeep 03, David Khanjian aka DAVI returned with two brilliantly textured deep house offerings on James Grant's "Anjunadeep 05" mix.

Currently building a reputation as one of the hottest talents around with appearances on Damian Lazarus' esteemed Crosstown Rebels label, and performances alongside Richie Hawtin, Guy Gerber and Eats Everything, DAVI displays his coming-of-age form with "The Bay 6 EP".

The first of his "Anjunadeep 05" offerings is "The Bay 6 (pt. 1)", which begins with an unsuspecting intro and gentle vocal before DAVI's trademark bassline powers through. Elegantly accompanied by swirling atmospherics and subtle pads, the low-end is the foundation of what is a surefire dancefloor winner.

"The Bay 6 (pt. 2)" sees Khanjian twists things inside out, once again building the track around an all-encompassing bassline, partnered with infectious vocal snippets and crisp, chugging percussion.

DAVI's other Anjunadeep 05 contribution, "The Time Has Come ", fuses bass heavy deep house with spacey progressive influences to create a late night groove packed with subtle melodies and a unique moody vibe.

Dimitri Kechagias review: One of the most respected house record labels in the scene at the moment is the so beloved Anjunadeep. Their releases stand out for their sheer quality and uncompromising brilliance. Anjunadeep presents the top EP by David Khanjian aka DAVI that includes 3 magnificent tracks. The Bay part 1 is a superb deep tech house beauty with late 90's balearic house feel to it. Relaxing melodies, chopped vocal samples, bubbly beats and deep haunting basslines plus a very dark synthy line that adds a very serious character to the track. Its like there is a dialogue between the female vocal and that more masculine heavy melody. Tracks like this one is a journey that invites the listener to listen again and again as everybody can discover something new that can give him/her aural pleasure and indescribable sensations. The Bay part 2 is on the same deep tech house sound with that dark synthy melody getting more prominent place and coming to the forefront. Also the nice little basslines add a very sexy groovy funky edge to it. Its hypnotic, erotic and highly addictive so better be prepared to let your senses go. Lastly The Time Has Come starts more bouncy and tough but slowly continues on the same deep tech house pathway. Warm synthy lines along with the darker more serious one creating an interesting puzzle of melodies, rhythm and groove that will absorb you in its sacred soundscape straight away. Pure Perfection, This is What I call Deep House! Love IT
