Norwegian producer Valentin is back on Fuzzy Recordings this time with a new debut EP titled “Derelict”. We are truly excited to bring you this stunning package as it includes remixes from severely talented artists, pioneers, and heavy hitters in the progressive scene in the likes of SNR, Dave Shtorn, Lessov, and AKI Amano.
Part.1’s original mix from Valentin starts off with a deep kick, crispy hi-hats and percussions, and very finely mixed and side-chained pad all topped off with a driving guitar pluck motif. As the perfectly balanced bassline is introduced it sets in a very nice chill groove without being too overbearing. As the song progresses and more elements are introduced, a supporting guitar melody steps in along with additional pads and an arp to sooths your ears to another level. When you think the track couldn’t possibly get any better, the song breaks down and introduces a beautiful flute and guitar melody that builds up into pure melodic bliss. Overall Valentin’s original mix of “Derelict Pt.1” is no doubt a chill progressive masterpiece. The beautiful composition and fine attention to detail that went into the overall creation of this track is the reason why Valentin has been so successful and admired in his work. We here at Fuzzy Recordings are deeply proud to present you this outstanding EP and have him on our roster of talented artists.
To really pump and spice things up we have a stunning remix from San Francisco based DJ, producer, and owner of Adrenalin Room, SNR. SNR is widely known for his beautiful and innovative song compositions and sound design. His remix of “Derelict Pt.1” is a great example of his craftwork and passion for pushing the envelope of electronic dance music. While maintaining the original melodic essence of the original track SNR transforms Valentin’s original interpretation of “Derelict Pt.1” into an absolute driving peak-hour dance floor monster. The track starts off with a punchy kick, aggressive snare/clap, sassy hats, and a deep growly bassline. The guitar motif and arp keeps the track driving while bridging the breakdown in very nicely. The breakdown is absolutely one of a kind as it includes the original sublime guitar melody accompanied by graceful pads, the raging beast of a bassline, all on top of a dubstep beat. Following the breakdown, SNR adds a hard-driven and fist-pumping buildup that will leave you wanting more. Honestly, this track should be entered into the list of one of the most epic breakdowns and build ups in EDM. We can hardly wait for more things to come from SNR. Adding to the list of talented artists is DJ, producer, and owner of the label “Magic Room”, Dave Shtorn. Dave’s version of “Derelict Pt.1” is a chilled atmospheric gem as his remix includes a new catchy lead melody and some very warm and emotional strings. The overall choice and design of synths, drums, and percussion are best described as perfect. Next up from Valentin we have the original mix of and sequel to “Derelict Pt.1” excitingly titled as “Derelict Pt.2”. Valentin includes similar sound elements from Pt.1 but takes a slightly different direction towards another great and solid sounding track. Although composed in the same exact key, this version incorporates a warmer sounding pad, a more subtle and gentle guitar, and more atmospheric elements scattered throughout the wonderful track. Is it possible for a track to sound both chilled and warm at the same time? The answer is yes, and Valentin has somehow magically nailed it in his original mix of “Derelict Pt.2”. Tackling a remix of “Derelict Pt.2” is a young Canadian music producer and owner of Portrait Digital named Kevin MacInnis AKA Lessov. With the track sped up to a steady 128bpm, Lessov adds a prominent flute riff, heavier bassline, and some very nice sounding vocal clips accompanied by finely tuned pads, strings, and chord progressions. Last but certainly not least we have a remix from AKI Amano from Japan. Known for his beautiful piano compositions and light and cheerful style, AKI Amano’s remix of “Derelict Pt.2” is no let down. His remix starts off with a simple yet effective drum pattern and pad. Once the pluck synth and bassline kicks in it takes the track into an entirely different level as the song blooms into a beautiful canvas of perfectly hand crafted synths and supporting melodic elements. The overall feel of AKI Amano’s remix can be simply summarized by two words, brilliant and lovely.
Dimitri Kechagias review: The quality progressive record label from San Francisco, Fuzzy recordings returns with another super exciting production by Valentin called Derelict supported by wide variety of nice remixes. Original part 1 is balearic trance at its very finest. Travelling, dreamy, relaxing with excellent guitar melody running all over creating that sun shinning summery feel good vibe. You press play and you let the pain go away. SNR remix goes the deep progressive trance direction with playful composition and dubstep sequence in the breakdown. Quite experimental as it tries to go 4x4 along with the dubstep sounds. Dave Shtorn remix is superb 8 minutes progressive house rendition that is really loungy, sexy and absolutely mesmerising. Derelict pt2. is high quality production that simply hypnotise you with its epic high quality musical themes, the heavenly female voices and once again beautiful guitar riffs and exotic flute as well. Absolutely stunning production that opens up your horizons and inspires you for sure. If you play the balearic trance sound this track will become easily your favourite. Lessov remix is a shorter version with electro touched basslines, groovy sounds and beautiful application of the melodic layers and the dreamy vocals along with breakbeat sequence in the breakdown. Energetic selection for progressive house meets trance sets. AKI Amano remix remains on that dreamy melodic progressive sound that switch on your imagination and the screening of various mental images in your mind walls starts straight away. Quality always wins and stands out! Love iT
