REVIEW:Hotlife - Between These Walls EP out on Avanti / Black Hole

1. Between These Walls
2. Rebels

Hotlife presented his debut, the "Take Me Away EP" featuring the tracks "Take Me Away" and "Nova" on the Avanti imprint in December of last year and he's now back with his new "Between These Walls EP".

Soon after their first steps onto the EDM scene in early 2012, producer duo Hotfile built a strong reputation. The first one to describe them as talented and upcoming producers was none other than Tiësto, who playlisted their original tracks in his Club Life radio shows, including "Take Me Away". Hotlife consists of childhood friends Yavor and Nikolay, both hailing from Varna, Bulgaria. After DJing in their local scene for several years (Yavor played for Alpha Radio Bulgaria and top clubs like Cacao Beach, Cosmic Club and a few large outdoor events) the duo decided to team up and join creative forces in early 2012. Currently spending most of their time writing new tracks with influences tracing back to Tiësto, Deadmau5 and Swedish House Maffia, Hotlife are set to make a lasting impression.

True to his known style that mixes progressive house with trance and electro, Hotlife once again focuses strongly on a big, crowd moving sound. "Between These Walls" and "Rebels" both exchange a stop and go game between electro house synths and trance style compositions with massive strings. Riding the grooves with loud sweeps and powerful breakdowns, Hotlife also manages to weave a sense of positivity and freedom in the tracks, making the "Between These Walls EP" a must have package.

Dimitri Kechagias review: The top house sublabel of Black Hole recordings is on great shape delivering the most amazing new music on various shades and colours of the modern house music genre that is so open to influences and ideas. Hotlife land on the label with their superb Between These Walls including two must play festival friendly anthems. Between These Walls is a straight forward uplifting progressive house smasher to blow your mind. Full on pumping beats, heavy basslines and very strong euphoric synths in the breakdown to lead the track to its massive hands in the air no holes barred climax. If you love the Swedish House sound you gonna love this easily. Rebels as the title suggests is a tougher, rougher, harder groovier epic prog house item with distorted squeezed basslines plus big euphoric synths playing original colourful melodies. If you want a much more in your face smashing the soundsystem type of track Rebels will be your favourite one for sure. Two sure crowd pleasers perfectly in tune with the current house sounds. Highly recommended for sunny dj sets. Love IT!
