Monster Deep continue to scout out the very best progressive house in it’s truest form and they come no fresher than this outstanding debut track by Finnish duo, Otto Yliperttula & Karolus Viitala AKA Something Good. Since forming in 2010 the duo have gone from strength to strength with multiple releases on The Shapeshifters own imprint, Nocturnal Groove.
As soon as we heard a snippet of an unfinished version of ‘Bloom’ we knew we had to have it! A deep and chuggy progressive number, the track effortlessly builds, blending Prydz-esque melodic motif’s with groove based rhythms. The main hook is tantalisingly revealed in small steps to keep the suspense at breaking point, and “oh my” what a main hook it is!
This is not just ‘Something Good’ this is something amazing!
Dimitri Kechagias review: The excellent sublabel of Monster Tunes returns with another lovely production by Something Good. Monster Deep goes progressive house meets trance with the magnificent Bloom. The title of the track for me signifies the beauty that you witness when a beautiful flower is blooming. In the same way the track starts all deep and groovy and slowly builds up into a magnificent full blooming progressive monster with superb synths, dark basslines, funky chunky beats with certain tribal house feel to them. Its hypnotic, its dreamy and really sweet and delicious with certain darkness to it as well. Various emotions and feelings come into play when you hear it and certainly this is a good thing for those who search for more eclectic creative approach in EDM sounds. Not to be missed, Love IT!
