Time for a revamp of a timeless classic. "Universal Nation", the cornerstone of the Bonzai sound of the mid to late nineties is back with a couple of exclusive fresh remixes that blend into today's sound effortlessly. Push aka M.I.K.E thrashed out this masterpiece in a short time and gained support very quickly, the track then literally exploded onto the scene and was snapped up by labels worldwide. It would go on to appear on countless compilations and become a favourite to millions.
First up we have the Sam Mitcham Remix. Sam is based in Manchester, UK and has seen releases on Defcon Recordings. Very much into the trance sound as is evident on the remix, a top class talent with a lot to offer, so keep an eye on this guy. His remix is pure unadulterated uplifting trance at its best. A brilliant energetic intro as the basses do their work alongside great FX and a thumping kick. The track weaves its euphoric goodness up to the main break where we are teased with distant melodies, great to hear the original vocal sample in there also. As the main hook remains in the background you can be sure of a monumental climax as the synths drive out the now very distinct sequence, simply stunning work here and enough to root this classic into the modern sounds of 2013!
Next up is Bjorn Wendelen aka DJ Ghost and Danny Corten aka Danny C. Ghost is a name which is uttered whenever we speak of Belgian greats due to his illustrious DJing and production career. Still very much in demand to this day he adds his magic touch to this gem of a track. Danny is a Belgian DJ and producer also with releases under labels like Essential, Fresh and NEWS. He works closely with Ghost and others on the DJ circuit and now also alongside Ghost in the studio. The remix takes on the harder style and what an amazing transformation it is, full on hard edged beats that would have any huge party jumping. Super thumping kicks and classic styled percussion provide the foundations for a high octane thrill ride. Classic vocal sample that is instantly recognisable and huge climactic FX lead us up to the ever familiar hook that is always a joy to experience. The break shows us mercy and goes straight to the melody before thundering back into this bouncing, pulsating, floor busting groove.
Dimitri Kechagias review: Everybody is getting ready for the LIVE performance by PUSH on the Bonzai All Stars stage at Tomorrowland on Saturday 27th of July. One of the most seminal Bonzai tracks is Universal Nation that gives you goosebumps whenever you hear it in its original form that still sounds so fresh and the various remixes that appear on many record labels. The home of PUSH is Bonzai Progressive and in its Bonzai Classics are landing the magnificent new mixes. One of the trance heads and the other for the more techno minded sets. First top update comes from Sam Mitcham & James Alexander who deliver the powerful in your face 140 BPM style version. Packed with fat booming driving basslines, tough drum beats and some acid overtones as well. The breakdown is long and teasing to introduce in full effect the unforgettable trance riff from the original. Its the moment that older trancers will start screaming, shouting and some of them maybe crying too. Its such an emotional moment for any trancer to enjoy Universal Nation once again. His climax is the finest you can get. Straight to the point uplifting euphoric trance at its best. The robotic distorted vocals are present too. Second top remix comes from the hot DJ Ghost and Danny C. Two of the finest techno djs in Belgium deliver the rough, hard, pumping and underground techno remake. Techno at its very best with great breakdown that allows the euphoric mega trance synthy to come to the open and blow your head completely. Soon the rocking solid beat strikes back and the party will never be the same after that moment. Universal Nation deserves to come annually with new remixes. Love iT!
