Dimitri Kechagias review: The Italian resident dj and producer on Afterglow deep, Gai Barone provides the next chapter in his very successful career. His backcatalogue includes some of the finest deep progressive releases that both trance and house community appreciate deeply. His productions are not just great tracks to drop in your set and put your crowd in a certain mood but also great pieces of real art and not the ephemeral, plastic junk found pop music style. His compositions are so rich with multiple layers of sounds, melodies and sound effects that manage to draw you instantly in its mysterious, haunting and unpredictable soundscape. You can imagine Gai Barone not just as a music composer but also as a film director that every single sound plays crucial role in order to build the whole picture. Little Bad Wolf in its nearly 8 minutes duration invite you for a journey into the mysterious unreal world of myths and kids stories with the aid of deep haunting basslines, break beat sequence in the breakdown, strange and very weird sound effects like vinyl scratching and of course luscious melodies and big euphoric synths stabs in the top and really sensual and imaginative breakdown. The climax is packed with trance goodness as the synthys lead the track towards the magnificent ending in a very floating spacius way. The Liquid Rainbow remix is done by Mobilize who transforms the original into a relaxing and very soothing breaks version perfect to include in the next Cafe Del Mar compilation. It is packed with warm atmospheric strings, sweet melancholic dreamy melodies and relentless moving and grooving break beats to get you on board for that ride through the forest to avoid the Little Bad Wolf who always searchs for naughty EDM fans. Highly recommended. Love iT!
