REVIEW: York & JPL - Nightmare out on Planet Love / Armada Music

1.Nightmare (York Club Mix)
2.Nightmare (JPL Club Mix)
3.Nightmare (York's Album Mix)

Ever stretching the curve of his musical creativity, York provides a new swing for lovers of his sound. In collaboration with the talented producer Joni Lungqvist, he gives us ‘Nightmare’.

Living the island life has inspired Torsten Stenzel in many ways. He’s got the fire of EDM burning for more than twenty years and recently brought us the outstanding ‘Islanders’ album.

With masterpieces like ‘Nightmare’ to keep us awake, we’re more than happy that there’s still no end in sight to the York project.

Together with the gifted Swedish talent Joni Lungqvist, better known as JPL, he sets a high standard for the next summer tunes to land. ‘Nightmare’ is deep, dreamy and simply sends you off to a bounty island, far, far away. More of a dream, we’d say!

Dimitri Kechagias review: Planet Love records headed by the German legend Torsten Stenzel returns in 2013 with the magnificent melancholic progressive club trancer Nightmare. The title doesn't reflect the content as we deal with a very pleasurable balearic trancer that has that ability to travel your senses and in my opinion being closer to what really trance music is all about. York teams up with the magnificent JPL who has produced until now amazing originals and remixes for many well known labels and the result is a state of the art trancer.  JPL club mix is the more on the underground side with balearic tribal techy beats, deep basslines and ethereal melodies combined with the well known balearic guitar riffs that is the trademark element for York tracks. York Club Mix moves on the same deep progressive trance territory with additional melodies, vocal parts and more mainstream approach. Finally York's Album Mix is a magnificent relaxing electro trancer that starts with melancholic piano part and continues with chunky laid back beats, the cool vocal samples, 80s electro pop basslines and the "York"guitar riffs. Its so cinematic that you can easily imagine it as part of a nice film or TV series soundtrack. Real pure trance sounds to rejuvenate mind, body and soul.   Love IT!
