The annual Miami Winter Music Conference is where the music industry's equivalent of the Oscars, the International Dance Music Awards, are presented. Last year, this prestigious award was won for the first time by a Belgian festival.
With its second nomination in 2012, Tomorrowland decisively beat out other events such as Coachella (California) and Electric Zoo (New York). Nominated for the third time in a row this year in the category of “Best Music Event”, Tomorrowland joins the ranks of nominees such as Electric Daisy Carnival (Las Vegas), Ultra Music Festival (Miami), Electric Zoo (New York), Coachella (Indio, California), Shambhala Music Festival (Canada), Sensation (the Netherlands) and Elements Music Festival (Canada). It's wait and see who will claim the sought-after trophy in March.

This year, Belgium will be represented twice at the 29th International Dance Music Awards. The DJ-duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike are in the running for the “Breakthrough DJ” award. Earlier this year, the two brothers from Willebroek already scored an impressive 38th place in DJ MAG’s top 100 and in recent months have performed across the globe: from South Africa to Brazil to Canada. They have been part of Tomorrowland for the past 4 years and in 2011 and 2012 they released the Tomorrowland Anthem. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have nearly a million Facebook fans in Belgium and abroad and work with major names such as LMFAO, Jennifer Lopez, Steve Aoki and Kelis. Recently, together with the Belgian DJ Coone and the American rapper Lil Jon they released the pounding track “Madness” which has taken off in a big way. Currently, these talented young DJs share the nomination list with the likes of Jamie Jones, Maceo Plex, Seth Troxler and Tommy Trash.
